Rossignol Phantom SC97 Ski

The Rossignol Phantom SC97 boasts impeccable big-mountain breeding and the heart of a race ski. The youngest branch on a family tree rooted in the legendary Bandit Series, the Phantom SC97 stands confident as granite among the rockered, capped, new-shape and reverse-camber rookies in the tram line. With race-room wood-core sandwich construction, traditional camber and sidecut, the Phantom brings a samurai sword and ancient warrior traditions to the grade-school fistfight of ski industry innovation. In fact, the only hints this ski is from the present decade are a subtle early-rise tip and a waist width that would have early-90’s shred-heads calling you a cheater.

  • Traditional shape and camber for predictable big-mountain performance
  • VAS Viscoelastic vibration absorption system silences hard-snow chatter
  • Aluminum Sharknose tip insert punches through variable conditions
  • 245mm x 65mm Early Rise improves turn initiation on hardpack and enhances float in powder

Bottom Line: A real ski for the hardcore element.

Write your question here...what type of bindind should i put on them? i am used to a gs racing ski is this ski a good all mt. type ski ? also they are alot shorter than i am used to they are 178 im used to 193 + and so wide under ft. how well can they perform? i hope they will be great in all conditions and terrain or will the width of the ski make them clumsy?

In my opinion it they will be less clumsy since they are shorter. The only thing that the width really changes is how long it takes to change from one edge to another...but its not a huge difference. But they will ski way differently from your race skis. As for great in all conditions....(is there such a ski, cause i want it then). In most conditions this ski should do well. But it should do great on groomers and moguls should be easier cause the ski is shorter. And it should do pretty well in powder. It won't have the float of a 120mm under foot but it will still be a lot better than narrow race skis in powder.

Another surprise from Rossignol. This ski is so solid everywhere. It absolutely dominates in every snow condition. I take it in the moguls, groom, powder and crud and I can't decide what it does best. Buy it!
