Rossignol Phantom Pro RC112 Ski

The Rossignol Phantom Pro RC112 fuses innovation with tradition to create the ultimate big-mountain mauler. Big, stiff, and burly enough to tackle anything from Teton cliff bands to fall-and-die Alaskan spines, the Phantom Pro replaces the 2009 Phantom SC 108 and ups the ante, taking zero prisoners on its way to ski-movie stardom. Old school race-room sandwich construction supplies brutal power and titanic stability at lip-splitting speeds, while fat dimensions help it hovercraft over neck-deep powder. An early-taper, rockered tip design dominates variable snow like a dungeon mistress and eases turn initiation in all conditions, giving the Phantom RC112 surprising agility for its length, but make no mistake: this is a big, bad alpine weapon built for expert skiers.

  • Metal and wood core sandwich construction for classic race ski feel
  • VAS system dampens harsh feedback and improves grip on boilerplate ice
  • Splayed tip punches through variable surface conditions

Bottom Line: It's called Pro for a reason.

Was looking at the RC 112 and BD Zealot coming from 187 xxl's.

Was looking at the RC 112 and BD Zealot coming from 187 xxl's. Looking for something with a bit better float but still has a good high end. Anyone skied this or the new Zealot's and can compare the two?

This ski is a great ripper. I have them in the 198 and theyre stiff underfoot but still feels like you can make em dance like barishnikov. The early rise and square shovel also make em a bit more forgiving too, they dont squirrel out alot. If youre looking for something to give er and do it fast then this is your baby.

Big Mtn Jedi?

By:
August 24, 2009

If you're a big mtn skier, this ski will improve your game.

I thought I knew my speed limit until I tried the RC 112. If you're comfortable making three turns down the cirque @ Snowbird on whatever you ski on now, try it again on the 112 and you'll be able to ski twice as fast, make half as many turns and it’ll feel as stable as standing on a sidewalk. The rockered tip eliminates the fear of catching your tip at that speed and makes stomping cliffs impossible to F*** up. If you find the need to correct your line mid run the stiff, flat, square tail can shut down 70mph in a nanosecond or correct your trajectory off of a cliff when you think it's already too late.
