Rossignol Jones Snowboard - 2007

When Jeremy Jones needed a snowboard to handle his fearless big-mountain style, he teamed up with Rossignol, and together they created the ultra-responsive Jones Freeride Snowboard. This burly snowboard offers split-second response time and bomber edge control. Its secret is a durable wood core wrapped in carbon-and-Kevlar reinforcement for snap, pop, and torsional stiffness (sorry, crackle). The Jones Snowboard's fast sintered base smokes down steep lines in Taho, and for Alaskan powder, Jeremy gave it a directional shape with plenty of progressive tip for flotation. No matter where you take this board, its freeride flex pattern keeps you in control. Rossi's stiffest flex upfront initiates turns easily, and the single-radius sidecut keeps those turns big and powerful. A softer flex in the tail smoothes things out for an easy exit.

Bottom Line: Ride the steep stuff like a pro on the Rossignol Jones Freeride Snowboard. (If you are a pro, just ride the steep stuff like yourself.)

Snowboard

This line is the first that I designed from scratch with no limitations or mold restrictions. I start my year on the 158 and as my legs get stronger and I ride bigger lines I move up in size.
I have really fallen in love with the 166. It is hands down the best board I have ever designed or ridden. This is the board any serious rider should have in their quiver. I made it for bombing AK peaks but it is actually the easiest board in the line to ride and works for all levels of riders.

Big mountain stick

Good stuff. I ride the previous year's model, this one sounds stiffer which is an improvement, needed a little snap.

Floats very well for conventional shape. Farther set-back then you might think. Definitely built for steep and deep but performs admirably on anything else... although your not gonna be able to follow you buddy through the moguls without putting in some work... But on the flip side this thing is a flat out mad man for speed in all conditions. its hard not to straightline on-piste cause its super smooth so watch out for kids when you ride to the bottom @ the end of the day

Responsive=loose feel!

By:
January 10, 2008

I just received my Rossi J-Jones 158 deck and was riding it the very next day. I was very surprised/disappointed of how soft/loose the overall feel was. The flex-pattern reminded me a lot of the Burton Custom, which is nice, but not necessarily what I look for in a pure freeride deck! The edge hold is OK, but decreases with higher speed on groomed slopes. The J-Jones shows it real face in POW (of course), with the "high" nose and softer tail it makes up for a lot of stuff it's missing on the piste:)
