Pro-tec Ace Spade Fullface Snow Helmet

The Pro-tec Ace Spade Fullface Snow Helmet saves your grill should it have a close encounter with trees, rocks, hard snow, or even your own knee. Pro-tec gave this extreme lid 19 vents to keep you from fogging up or overheating. The washable one-piece liner is easy to remove and toss in the laundry when it gets funky from a season of hard charging use.

Bottom Line: Your ace in the hole for extreme head protection.

I was knocked unconcius snowboarding last week and am really disappointed my helmet transmitted such a stong force to my head. I have been hit in the head plenty to understand that the solid EPS foam cruishing only 10% was ineffiecient. Are there ski helmets made like football helmets that will reduce a blow to a manageable 150g?Thanks, John

Try a motorcycle helmet. Ski helmets arent designed to take linear impacts. Only use is to prevent cuts from rocks and tree branches etc. If you land on your head you will still feel it. Sorry to hear about your lil accident.

Good But Beware

This helmet is the solution for those of us that want to keep our current facial features just the way they are. Charging tree runs, fast lines and chutes is why you buy this helmet.

My head fits a bit odd in the helmet, I think it was designed for a uniformly shaped but narrow skull, so mine is snug on the crown of my head though not unbearably so. The worst thing about full-face helmets is the fogging. When you ride hard you breathe hard which hits the peak and comes straight up into your goggles. When your moving it is no problem at all, but lift lines or waiting for a snowmobile ride makes you fog fast. If you can't get moving in a minute or so your screwed. I ride Oakley A frames, and I routinely have to change my lens at lunch do to internal fogging. I'm giving the Smith Prodigy Turbo-fan goggles a try currently to see if it solves this problem.
