Primus Power Ignitor Lighter - 2008

Don't let a breeze keep you from heating up dinner in camp—pack the Primus Power Ignitor Lighter and get that stove ablaze. The uses for a windproof lighter may be limited in number, but having a flame that works anytime, anywhere is indispensable to any backcountry regular. The Power Ignitor Lighter's body is machined from solid aircraft aluminum, and features a short lanyard for clipping to the outside of a pack or to a key clip in your pocket. It refills through a bottom port with readily-available compressed butane.

Great below 10k ft.

Works wonderful below 10,000 ft. MSL elevation. Above that it becomes erratic at 11,000, and won't work at all above 13,000. Read elsewhere about turning down the output at higher altitude. Haven't tried that yet. Will report findings when I have a chance.

i bought one of these gadgets today... but cannot seem to get

i bought one of these gadgets today... but cannot seem to get it to light? it sparks, but no flame. I have tried re-filling it from a can of butane but it is difficult to know whether i have filled it enough etc.any pointers?cheers, Phil

the lighter comes with no fuel in it.. you have to refill it. hold it up to the light and you should see the level of liquid.

This little bugger lights every time and with authority. I was amazed at the quality, it feels like it should cost twice as much or more. Buy 2, you will not be disappointed.

I have not had to refill the lighter yet, so I cannot comment on that aspect.
