Good Canister Stove

By:
October 20, 2009

I dont use it much. I prefer liquid fuel stoves. But Its a very powerful stove to say the least. For the money its great!! But the canisters are a little annoying to deal with.

will this stove connect to fuel canisters that are easily available

will this stove connect to fuel canisters that are easily available in Europe? (Italy and France.) Or does anyone know a good stove to buy for easy use with fuel canisters in Europe? Thanks!

Lindal valve, screw-on type stove canisters are readily available throughout many countries in Europe. This stove does use that type of fuel canister.

Great stove. I use this anytime the trip is shorter than a week. It's cheap enough you don't worry about it at all, and for the money is an excellent value

There are some collectors of old stoves in Norway. Primus licenceed production of some their stoves to some Norwegian factories. The parts are the same. There may be some useful information at this websight: http://stovecollector.tripod.com/br_hoevik_verk.htmHere's another website about older stoves:http://www.spiritburner.com/fusion/index.php

Will the Primus Classic Trail Stove burn on the Coleman Propane

Will the Primus Classic Trail Stove burn on the Coleman Propane tanks? or does it need a special type?

It will not burn the large green propane tanks as it is a compact stove. It needs the smaller propane/butane canisters. My suggestion is to spend a little more money and get a nicer stove. That is what I did. I purchased this stove my first time around & then upgraded to the Brunton Raptor as it is much smaller, lighter and has Piezo electric start. Should have saved my money and bought the Raptor to begin with. Spending a little more money is worth it as this is not a budget buster like some tents, packs etc. This stove can use all the Lindal valve (screw-on) fuel canisters.

Keep it in my fishing boat, probably the best $ I have ever spent. Light weight, compact and it never quits.
