little but powerfull

I love my e+LITE. I was trying to shead some weight on my pack, i got rid of my tikka and got an e+LITE. Its a little harder to night hike with but i found that most of the time a head lamp is used for reading or walking back and forth to the campfire or the john so there is no need to cary a monster headlamp that is so bright you can see space. The e+LITE is under an oz. with batteries and can do everything that the bigger guys can. Remember backpacking is the onily sport were you can brag about how little things are.

good light

Good for back up light as it is very light weight and easy to pack away. White light is strong. Red light is not so strong and good for reading and short distances only. Overall good to have one just in case.

What is the best battery type to use on this light? I wore mine

What is the best battery type to use on this light? I wore mine out by accidentally leaving it on and I wanted to find the best for the size. I know they are stock CR2032 but aren't there other compatible ones?

Energizer and Duracell both have Li (lithium) versions of the CR2032 battery. I've used the Energizer and found they last a fair bit longer than the normal variety but they are harder to find and cost a little more.

nifty headlamp

i got this for backpacking because of it's weight and size. the batteries are only the size of a coin so you can carry as many spares as you want and not worry about weight. it's perfect for setting up camp and cooking dinner after dark. sure, it's not as bright as my friend's headlamp, but i like mine better because it weighs about a 10th as much.

Great for astronomy

By:

This is a great little light for astronomy viewing while checking your maps. My friend hangs one around her dog to keep track of him on the beach at night. Also good for keeping with a first aid kit. Not the brightest on the trail but I've seen worse. Very light and compact.

Effective & Small

By:

I've used this around the camp fire, in my tent reading or surfski paddling at night in the sea. I cant remember when last I held a torch in my hand - this thing is waterproof & robust and when out at sea in the dark transmits a powerful beam or flashes of light which can be seen from a long way off. The protective cover box is a bonus. Worth its weight in gold!

let there be lite light!

Great light for the backcountry! Weight is incredible and love the various light settings. I'm a big fan of the red option for use around camp. The whistle is cool and love the ball-joint pivot. I'm very comfortable with the light this throws off (even for trail running), but if you're expecting to light up the trail... you might want a brighter (heavier) option.
