The Petzl Tactikka XP Headlamp packs a powerful LED light into a small package that comes in camouflage patterns ideal hunters, members of the Armed Forces, and anyone who likes camo. Three colors of wide-angle lens filters allow for close-up lighting that's nearly impossible to be seen from a distance. For times when you need a bit more power, just hit the Petzl Tactikka XP Headlamp's boost switch for 20 seconds of light that shines 50 meters.

Bottom Line: The Petzl Tactikka XP Headlamp covers your lighting needs without forcing you to wear some bright neon colored piece of plastic on your head.

The Tech Specs say max burn time is 120 hours. Max usually means they have it on the lowest setting to get the longest time. The "boost" setting only lasts for 20 seconds, so if you continuously use the "boost" I am sure the battery life would be significantly shorter.

Works Great

This is the second one of these I have owned and it works perfect for my needs. Late nights at the crag are usually a little easier with some light. I also enjoy night climbing and this provides exactly what i need and is also quite comfortable on longer climbs. Works great at the campsite and in the tent or walking the dogs at night.

That is a really creepy question. Probably the blue, the blood won't reflect any blue light and it'll be very dark black. On the flip side, red might make it much brighter than its surroundings. Luckily, you get both, so you can experiment. On deer or something, I hope.

I got this to replace my old Tikka lamp. This one is much more bright and illuminates a much further distance. It's great.

Overall Excellent

Changing color lenses is a little inconvenient but its a great light overall.
e.g. You have to remove the red to put in the blue rather than just push a different lever or rotate a wheel or smething.

Me Likey

Petzl is a very reliable brand. Seem to last until you lose em'. This lamp has everything you may need in a compact style. The red lens is nice for dark settings when you don't want a bright light fuzzing up your vision.
