Petzl Corax Harness - Men's

Thanks to a large range of adjustments, the Petzl Corax II Harness fits well whether you wear it on a summer sport climb or over five layers on a winter mountaineering trip. Petzl designed the Corax II harness with two pre-threaded DoubleBack buckles on the waist to help keep the belay loop centered while allowing an incredible amount of adjustment. The same type of buckles help you adjust the legs to fit extra layers, and releasable rear elastic lets you answer nature's call without removing your harness. Four gear loops, two Caritool slots, and a haul line loop provide plenty of options for racking.

Bottom Line: Pull on this harness for everything from warm bolt clipping to frigid alpine ascents.

Amazing

This harness is a great fit. Why? Cause its adjustable in every way. I love the two buckles on the waist. You can center up your belay point perfectly on your waist. The leg loops are pretty comfy too and I love that they are adjustable. I wish the gear loops were a big bigger though.

Great!

Great harness- fit is excellent for me, but I have heard of others who prefer Petzl's prior sizing system. If you wore a medium in the prior sizing system, you may be between sizes in this harness- try one on before you buy, if possible!

I just received this harness today and it seems a little odd.

I just received this harness today and it seems a little odd. Compared with the leg straps (or even with my old Petzl Corax harness), the ends of the webbing for the waist-harness are folded over and sewn in the wrong direction. Shouldn't they be pointed out so that they can catch on the elastic keeper and outside of the buckle? Can anyone help?

Alan, just checked my Corax, and they are sewn the same way. I think this is on purpose so that the webbing will lay flat once under the elastic. I never thought about it, but seems to be the way it's designed. It's never given me any trouble, and is a very comfortable, sturdy harness! Enjoy

I haven't had any complaints about this harness. It fits great and the doubleback buckles can snug up and hold well. Two of my friends bought this harness after my recommendation and both love it as well. If you're looking for a comfortable reliable rig that you can where all day....this is it.

Unique and Comfortable Fit

By:

I have only had the chance to wear this harness in the gym so far, but it is comfortable and very adjustable. I like the design of the double-backing system that Petzl has come up with. It is simple and reliable. The waist straps are really long but can be tucked away while climbing, but I am pretty thin so....might work out well when I have thick layers on in the mountain. I like how the side gear loops lay flat that will help when making alpine ascents with a backpack on. The rear haul loop is small, but seems burly enough to drag a haul rope up the pitches. I would definately buy this harness again. Very happy with the purchase.

All around performance

I've had three of these harnesses over almost nine years, and I keep coming back. The fit is great, the waist and legs easy to adjust, it's comfortable yet lightweight, and Petzl fixed my only complaint about it - the Corax now has a haul loop.

I'm a woman at 5'7" and a size 6 and I wear this harness in the size 1.
