Petzl Canyon Harness - Men's

Petzl created the Canyon Harness to hold up to the unique demands and tough conditions of canyoneering and spelunking. Its burly nylon construction easily takes scraping from a low crawl. The removable, replaceable PVC seat protects your wet suit when you make a long rappel down a narrow shaft. Regarding Petzl canyon harness. What safety testing has been

Regarding Petzl canyon harness.
What safety testing has been done on these? What are recommended loads (I presume these might be size dependent).
But what about shock loading - say in a fall of 5 meters . . .I am thinking of using it as a bosun's chair for climbing masts on a yacht - it looks superior to the ones most boaties use.

This latest edition of the canyon harness is much better than the old one. This one is padded, much more comfortable and doesn't squeeze the feller's while on rappel. It may not make a fashion statement, but the PVC seat is a must while sqeezing through and descending the dry narrow canyons on the Colorado plateau.

Gear loops on the Metolious safe tech harness are curiously rated to 10kn.

Most harnesses the gear loops aren't designed for any serious load.

There are only Two gear loops. One on each side. However, gear loops are not designed to support the weight of a person! They are just there for storing gear.The legs are not very well padded at all, but it still remains a comfortable harness.
