The fully adjustable design of the Petzl Adjama Harness makes it ideal for all-season use while new perforated padding increases breathability in the heat of summer. Petzl used pre-threaded DoubleBack buckles on the waist and legs of the Adjama Harness to allow for quick entry and easy adjustment to fit over extra layers. Four gear loops hold your trad or sport rack, and Caritool slots provide a place for ice screws during winter use. Petzl also gave the Adjama Harness droppable leg loops to make answering nature's other call a bit easier.
Bottom Line: Rock, ice, or alpine—get all your climbing done with the versatile Petzl Adjama Harness.
I've been using this as my primary do-it-all harness for about a year now. It's pretty light and the adjustable leg loops and large waist let me layer up underneath it. It's supportive and breathes really well. The pre-threaded DoubleBack buckles make putting on and taking off the harness really easy. The main qualm i have with this harness is that the plastic thread that they use as the stitching on the coping of the harness has started to really irritate my skin when not wearing a shirt. Also, as many other reviewers have said, the sizing is a little off (it runs a bit large). Overall a great do-it-all harness.
Petzl really seem to have the comfort factor dialled in. This harness rocks whether its outdoors taking some big falls or slaving away on an indoor route you just won't give up on. I've put it through the wash a few times as well and its still in perfect condition. The doubleback buckles are so fast and easy too. Wicked harness. As for the sizing issues, go to a shop, try it on, then get it through backcountry. Problem solved. Cheeky, but gotta be done.
Can I expect some mediums to be back in stock soon (particularly in the solid blue) or should I just look at purchasing something else after refunding the wrong size? I really like this harness, but can't pretend to manage in something that doesn't fit!
This harness has it all. Speed buckles, ice clipper slots, 4 gear loops, incredibly comfortable, petzl construction...i can't say enough about this harness. One of my favorite features is the delta leg loop section that doesn't get enough play. The leg loop is molded and sewn differently so that it sits perfectly against your legs. Get this!!!
I'm seeing a few complaints about the sizing. I wear a 36 in jeans (which are loose on me), but my waist measured at 37 with a tailor's tape measure. I plan to order the Large, anyone think that would be a bad move? I just don't want it to be too tight with a medium. Thanks!** Update!I appreciate the comment James. As it turns out, after buying this Harness in Large, I have to cinch the belt all the way down to the very end. I do wish I would have bought the Medium, because I have been losing quite a bit of weight lately. The thighs are a good fit, but the waist is quite large and I personally would not call this true to size.
I wear between a 36 and 38 pant depending on the brand and cut of the pants, and i have a large. It fits close to almost all the way closed so there is a lot of strap left on the waist.
i tried a medium and it fits me, but just barely. The gear hoops are in weird places though and I opted for the larger size both for the gear hoop positions and that I want to try ice climbing at some point and the larger size will fit over any cold gear I wear.
Sizes way too big. It's the first time in my life I wear S. I have a 31 to 32" waist which makes the M perfect, however when I put it I could barely get it tight enough, and ended up with the gear loops in the front, hanging over my thighs... The S works fine but if you're normally proportioned the leg loops will be a bit tight. Otherwise seems like a good harness but I wouldn't want to hang in it too much, the leg padding feels quite thin.
I'm a pretty big fan of this harness. I picked it up a year and a half ago and have been quite please with it thus far. Unlike a lot of other owners, I don't have problems with the sizing. Maybe it's just me.
The harness is fairly comfortable and only really begins to bite into my waist after three hours of routesetting. It's far from the lightest on the market, but I wouldn't describe it as bulky either. The four gear loops are nice in that you can carry up as much gear as you need. The speed buckles are awesome, and I'll never revert to double-backing again. All in all, it's a nice harness. Easy on the wallet and extremely versitile.
I love the auto double back! Nice that its only on one side as well. VERY lightweight in comparison to my old Petzl Corax. I like the different shape of the molded gearloops. I also like the haul loop on the back, makes trailing a rope 10 times easier. All in all, This is a great harness!
I as well have a 31-32 in waist and the medium is almost too big. The harness seems to have narrow gear loops which makes it a little harder to clip items if you are wearing a shirt. The harness seems to take the falls very well and I found the harness much more ergonomic compared to to my last one which makes it more comfortable. however there is no way i would hang all day in it. The rating is with the intension of top rope and sport climbing.
I couldn't be happier with this harness. I have used it several times now and love it. It is very comfortable, the buckles are simple, and the breathable foam is a plus. My only complaint are the gear loops. My old Arc Teryx made it easier to rack up and unclip gear.
I could not ask for a better harness for trad climbing. From a local single pitch to the multi pitch all day routes, this harness remains comfortable. I wish there was a fifth loop in the back of the harness and a bigger tie in loop. Otherwise, the harness is Excellent. I love the perforated padding, which helps to keep the sweat down when climbing. I owned this one before, and after about 5+ years of continious use, I needed a new one and no question what harness I would get! I recomend this to anyone looking for an excellent all around, comfortable harness.
I've climbed 30 plus pitches on this harness so far this season and taken one whipper on it, at first I was worried that this thin harness was gonna kill my kidneys when I whipped. I was very suprised, this harness was very supportive. I have a 32" waist and I bought the Med. size the waist strap fits be perfectly, I can barley tell its there all day, the leg loops are a bit big however, they feel great while climbing/belaying but when hiking from crag to crag they feel a litte loose. No major complaints tho, highly recomended.
First of all, this is a great harness. I am pretty new to the sport and this is only my second harness, however this one is light years ahead of my first. It is lightweight, comfortable (for sport) and fits me very well. That being said, definitely size down as the other reviews have mentioned. I am 6'2" and a 32" waist and i went with the small. It fits me perfectly. The medium definitely would have been too big. If you have wide thighs, you may have to size up, but for me the sizing is spot on. Bottom line? Great harness...just size down accordingly.
I'm a 34" waist and the Med was way too big. I traded it for the small and that was also too big. I'm not sure what the deal with this is. Maybe it's designed to go over a few base layers and ski pants???
