Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat 2 Running Shoe - Men's - 2007
You don't need cushioning in weird spots and a ton of pronation control in your running shoes, but you would like high-rebound forefoot foam and heel crash padding. Welcome to the Pearl Izumi Men's SyncroFloat 2 Running Shoes. The SyncroFloat 2 Shoes' lightweight, neutral cushioning absorbs shock, while the SKYDEX heel crash pads cushion your heel strikes. Full-rubber outsoles grab onto slippery surfaces, and the SyncroFloat 2 Shoes' external forefoot flex grooves, molded EVA midsoles, and high-rebound forefoot foam make landing, flexing, and taking off easy, comfortable, and springy.
Bottom Line: Shock-absorption on landings, easy flexing, energetic take-offs.
These are by far my most favorite road shoes. They have replaced my Asics DS for good. Great for long runs, with a plush ride, and lightweight. I am a neutral runner and this shoes fits the bill, already on my 2nd pair. (got ~300 miles on the 1st pair). Fits true to size.
These are the best shoes I have ever owned. They are really light and are insanely comfortable. In the one month I have owned these shoes I have won two triathlons!! My run times are down considerably. (please always make sure the shoes fit right before you run long distances in them)
Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat 2 Running Shoe - Men's. I'm looking for this shoe in all yellow as pictured on the web site-are you out? is it discontinued? where can I find it? thanks Todd
Hey Todd,The best thing to do is jump on "live chat" and ask those folks. They'll be able to look up if there are any on order, and if their are they can give you an approximate arrival date. Also, they can tell you if they're just out of stock or discontinuing colors.
These shoes are very light, yet have great stability and excellent cushion. I'm a big guy and these shoes take the pounding and keep my feet, shins and knees comfortable. The looks compared to some other clod hoppers are an added bonus.
Don't get me wrong here there is a lot to like about Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat 2 with its unique slipper upper, high rebound forefoot, and SKYDEX Heel crash pad but it's a lot of FLUFF. I've been using the Syncofloat for long runs and for some reason I can't wait to get home and take them off, they feel awkward and bulky forcing me to change my natural gait and stride. I'm going to have to put these in the closet and try the Pearl Izum STREAK.
We switched to Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat's this year from long held loyalties to Saucony and New Balance. No need to break this show in, it's ready for the ride immediately. The cushion is fantastic. They also look great, which is a nice perk.
I agree with most of the other reviewers, very nice shoe. Extremely light, yet solid when running on trails. I've had them a couple weeks and they seem to be very well designed and breathable. Not the most attractive shoe, but you aren't wearing them for fashion (actually the grey ones aren't bad).
These shoes are great for a person looking to run half on half off trail; or if the trails you run are fairly flat, and packed down these shoes will be the ticket your looking for. They are very light and the lack of seams truely does reduce pressure points. However, if you run very rough trails you may want to look for a shoe with a bit more support and protection.
All in all a great fitting/running shoe that is home running all but the roughest trails out there.
I truly havent done much in them besides stood for 9 hours at a time and some drunk kickball...but they are great for both of those. More heal cushion compared to my Salomon Trail runners but seem more of a running shoe than a trail shoe...overall I would buy them again
In the past I've worn Adidas Supernova cushions and the Adistar. While visiting the the Expo at the Twin Cities Marathon, I stopped at the PI booth and tried on some syncrofloat 2s. Nice, and with the free t-shirt and sox, how could I not give them a try.
My first run in the shoes was a rainy 8 miles. The shoes performed without a problem. Very bouncy and no blisters from running in the rain.
Very comfortable with good stability. Fit was snug at first, but true to size after first use. Only issue is feet seem to get warmer than Sauconey shoes I've had.
I'm very happy with the Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat 2 Running Shoe - they are lightweight, supportive and fit my med/wide foot very well. I have worn these running on pavement with no issues at all - my father uses them for absolutely everything... mowing the lawn, watching the Red Sox, playing golf - he just got his third pair and is still psyched on them. A great all around shoe, these fit true to size for me. Would definitely buy them again, especially at this price.
The PI syncro float 2 is a very comfortable shoe. It is stable and very cushy. I had more energy at the end of my run right away after switching to this shoe. Very good product.
A good shoe for on/off road use. Great cushioning and nice styling. I mostly use it on a treadmill but find it to be competent on the trail and street.
This cushy sneaker works on or off the trail. I've completed a few climbs in these on single track with some exposed rock without incident. This is my first time trying Pearl Izumi and I'm very pleased.
