Patagonia Storm Jacket - Women's

From afternoon thunderstorms in the Rockies to costal Oregon tempests, zip up the Patagonia Women's Storm Jacket for full waterproof protection that can handle the occasional ski descent or mountaineering trip. This two-layer H2N0 polyester jacket features shoulder and elbow reinforcements for durability, a two-way adjustable hood, and storm-flapped zippers and Underarm zips. Store you MP3 player in the inside security pocket, cinch up the drawcord hem, and brave the elements. This jacket is fully recyclable through Patagonia's Common Threads Recycling Program.

Bottom Line: A lightweight, all-purpose shell for foul conditions.

Sizes are not right

Not sure what happened to Patagonia and women's fit. This jacket is boxy and the sleeves are too long. Even in a size Small, the lady would need to be at least 5'6" in height with long arms for this jacket fit properly. The quality of the jacket is great, what one would expect from Patagonia but it is a heavy in weight, it weighs more than one would expect for an outer shell that is not insulated. The velcro is extremely strong that it would probably fuzz up the inner mesh lining really easily as well. I don't recommend this jacket for those looking for a lightweight athletic fitting jacket or someone petite.

Is this jacket warm enough (with layers) for dogsledding in Montana

Is this jacket warm enough (with layers) for dogsledding in Montana or other 'cold weather' conditions?...or do you recommend a heavier down type jacket?

This one looks more like a type of rain jacket. A gore tex shell might do the trick for colder weather, with some fleece underneath!

Love this

I needed to fill a hole in my jacket wardrobe between 'ski parka' and 'super-light rain jacket'--this was perfect. I wore it in the backcountry and at the resort, but it also looks (and works) perfect in the city. Fits great over layers. I added pulls to the interior pockets so I could open them with gloves, and the velcro is almost too strong, but other than that, another totally awesome Patagonia product.
