Patagonia Rubicon Rider Jacket - Women's

You’re not stoked when wetness seeps through the particularly exposed areas on your ski jacket (shoulders, elbows, bottom hem). Patagonia added 2-layer waterproof breathable panels over those exact areas on the Women’s Rubicon Rider Jacket, so you get a bit more protection when it starts to flurry (or when you accidentally navigate down the hill face-first.

  • 150g Thermogreen insulation uses 90% recycled polyester to warm your torso
  • Powder skirt blocks snow and zips off for casual nights downtown
  • Removable helmet for reduced bulk on clear days
  • Underarm zip vents dump excess heat
  • Relaxed fit means this ski jacket layers easily over heavyweight tops

Bottom Line: A sweet ride.

Anyone know how this runs? -->I've had a tough time

Anyone know how this runs?
-->I've had a tough time with Patagonia's sizing over the last couple of years. All of a sudden some large's are huge & some mediums are too snug. (I always used to just be a large in everything... & I'm still physically the same size.) Any thoughts?

I tried this jacket on in a store and actually found it to have a more slim fit than I was expecting for a ski jacket. Though Backcountry says that the women's fit is "relaxed," the Patagonia website says that it has a "regular" fit which I think more accurately describes its fit. The men's jacket, which I just bought for my boyfriend, does indeed have a more relaxed fit. I like this jacket so much that I am planning on ordering it for myself, however I will stay with my standard medium, which I always go with in Patagonia tops. I would not recommend to size down in this jacket if you are usually a large.

The Rubicon Rider is designed to be a slightly looser fitting ski piece, but not quite a relaxed fit. It's going to be a bit longer and a bit looser in the body. Might be a spot where you'd be fine w/ the medium

I am debating between this jacket and the Patagonia powder bowl.

I am debating between this jacket and the Patagonia powder bowl. I already have the primo down and it just isn't cutting it for me. I can't seem to find a jacket that keeps me warm. Any suggestions?

Rubicon Rider would be a good choice, or an even warmer one for you would be the Patagonia Pipe Down, it's a wareproof down puffy that is very warm!
