Patagonia Rubicon Rider Jacket - Men's

On nasty storm skiing days when the gapers are huddled in the lodge, you’ll be shredding free refills in the Patagonia Men’s Rubicon Rider Jacket. Made with weather-resistant softshell fabric and reinforced with waterproof breathable panels where you need them (shoulders, elbows, and bottom hem), this puffy ski jacket packs big warmth with just enough protection from the elements. i have last years, which i'd give 4stars. and the reason this gets 5 is because they FINALLY ADDED PIT ZIPS, which was the one bad thing about last year's. this is a warm jacket, you heat up like crazy, and if you're riding the lift then your temp is fluctuating +/- 20º

Another great installment from Patagonia! If layering isn't your thing, the 150 grams of insulation really do the trick in this jacket (plus the bulk is not down-like though the warmth may be slightly less than some of the warmer down jackets out there). The only downside I see with this coat is that I don't really see it as ideal for skiing or mountaineering usage (I think it works better as everyday, pub crawl/around the town attire), but maybe it's just me (and not the jacket).
