Patagonia Roving Pant - Men's - 2008

Patagonia uses 75%-recycled cotton canvas fabric to make the Men’s Roving Pant plenty tough for a hardcore day of hiking, climbing, or backpacking. A gusseted crotch adds plenty of mobility and increases comfort when you wear these pants under your climbing harness. Patagonia added a DWR coating to help you stay dry if your climbing day gets rained on (not like that would ever happen).

Bottom Line: Strong like climbing pants should be.

Your description says, "Patagonia uses 75%-recycled cotton

Your description says, "Patagonia uses 75%-recycled cotton canvas fabric..." However, per other websites and Patagonia's own, these are not cotton at all. Patagonia says, "[c]limbing pants with the look of cotton but the burly, moisture-shedding fortitude of nylon" and "[m]ade from a tough, quick-drying nylon (75% recycled) canvas with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, they feel like soft cotton but shed moisture and resist abrasion."You may want to confirm this and change your description. I know they appeal more to me as an outdoor pant knowing that they are NOT cotton. I'll probably buy a pair after doing this research.

Patagonia Roving Pant

I was looking for a comfortable, straight forward, all-round hybrid pant for light hiking, travel, shopping, and even my day job if necessary. Anyway, these worked well. The material feels good, looks presentable, is durable and there is one back pocket that zips shut for security. Finally, I got a direct hit (fit) since I always have troubles with Patagonia sizing. (I'm a 34x32)

I'm 6'4" with a 34" inseam. Does anyone know

I'm 6'4" with a 34" inseam. Does anyone know of any good cragging pants made for tall guys? I love patagonia's construction but all their pants are made with a short inseam... thanks!

Check out the prAna Stretch Zion pant. I've been through Mountain Hardwears, Patagonia's and a few others and the fit was better with prAna's.Hope that helps.
