Patagonia Paddling Pants - 2006

With the Patagonia Paddling Pants, unwanted blasts of cold water will be just a bad memory. The relaxed-fit pants have room for a couple layers of Capilene underneath if you're in a play boat in the snowmelt or pushing the season into the cold months on your sea kayak. Patagonia made the Paddling Pants from waterproof breathable, nylon H2No and gave them 2mm closures at the waist and ankles to seal out water. With a gusseted crotch and articulated knees, the Paddling Pants are functional for sitting or kneeling.

Bottom Line: Put on Lotus Designs' Paddling Pants for cozy cold-weather paddles.

Hammer time

I bought these to go with a Skanorak, they are the same fabric but heavier weight. They are well made, but cut too baggy for my taste, there’s too much fabric in the cockpit. The major issue was the fabric weight, I opted for lighter weight pants as I tend to overheat (Kokatat Paclite). Also, I didn't need the neoprene waistband.
