Patagonia Gi II Pant - Men's - 2006

Travel is a little easier with the Patagonia Men's pull-on Gi II Pants. The elasticized waist and gusseted crotch are great for maxing out on a plane for 18 hours or striding down dusty roads between catching rides hitchhiking. A zippered rear pocket and hook-and-loop closure side pocket make sure you don't lose your valuables on the road. Patagonia made the Gi II pants from soft-but-tough Supplex nylon which dries out quickly and easily compacts in your backpack when you need to switch to shorts.

Bottom Line: The Patagonia Gi II pants will be your best friend on the road.

Great pants

Comfortable, quick drying, and high quality. Just keep them away from campfires!! Embers burn holes in them real quick! Rear zipper could use some adjustment, it is too hard to pull.

They really are bombproof!

I bought a pair RKH M'S GI II PANTS in May 2006 from Marmot in Berkeley California.

I was a member if Iron Works a indoor climbing gym with many amenities such as weightroom, core training (stomach muscle strengthening), indoor stationary biking, yoga, etc.

On a typical day, I would wear this pair of pants to work, then hit the gym afterward. At the gym I would do a hour of boldering and then do a core class or a yoga class.

As you know, climbing in pants would be very difficult were it not for the gusseted inseam. Yoga causes the body to profusly sweat and core classes require moving from about on the floor from one position to the other.

By the time I would drive home, my pants would be pretty much dry. I would wash them in the shower and then hang them out. The next day the pants would be dry enough for work.

Working in an office where dress clothes are the norm is no concern. The khaki color blends right on it with everybody elses. When climbing, my wallet stays put in the side pocket.

So, that's my review and if you made it this far, you really must try these yourself.

Thank you, Patagonia!

Great pant

After my old favorite Macpac Rockovers (solid gear from N.Z.)bit the dust(and subsequent dissapointing design change...) these sounded pretty similar to the old style, so I decided to give them a try. The loose comfortable cut suits both hiking and rockclimbing. After having a nasty fall in them, they are showing no signs of wear so are pretty tough to. A good allrounder...

Great but older model was better

By:

These pants are comfortable, useful casually around town or backpacking in the woods, BUT, the older model was better (with an elastic belt, larger elastic waist, leg zip-pocket, and one side seam instead of two).

Good Pants

By:

These pants are great. I use them for fishing. I throw them under my waders, they don't bunch up because they are so light weight. If they do get wet, they dry super quick. Great for wet wading in the hot summer months too. The built in belt is perfect. It's tough, but at the same time its very minimal which adds comfort. I would recomend these pants for any outdoor activity. Great for hiking/backpacking.
