Recycled components, environmentally-friendly leather tanning, and a Gore-Tex insert mean you can hike with dry, supported, and "green" feet with the Patagonia Men's Nomad GTX Hiking Boot. Almost every component in the Nomad GTX Hiking Boot is at least partially, if not wholly, manufactured from recycled materials, and that includes the Vibram Ecostep outsole. A Capilene lining wicks moisture from your feet, and of course, the Gore-Tex sock insert is guaranteed to keep you dry. The full-grain leather upper is supportive enough for moderate loads and multi-day hikes, and the tanning process complies with ISO-14001 environmental standards.
Bottom Line: The Patagonia Nomad GTX boots let you get more out of the outdoors with minimal environmental impact.
These boots fell apart on their maiden voyage. I took them up to Tricouni Peak, near Squamish, BC, Canada, and when I got to the Peak I noticed that the sole had started to separate for the boot. Not impressed!

I will continue buying these boots until they don't make them anymore... This is a perfect mix of agility and stiffness, grip, weather protection, and looks... A few reasons why I'd buy them again...
1.Stiff enough for protected treks up mountains and down the other side in rocky terrain. 2.Agile/Flexible enough for running (yes, running) up and down mountains bounding from rock to rock without rolling your ankle.. I've had a couple close calls, and I believe that the boots definitely protected me. 3.Grip = excellent for scrambling. It sticks to wet and dry rocks. I havent slipped yet when crossing any streams. 4.Generally weather proof. Light - medium Rain is no problem for these boots.. just don't go dipping your foot in a river for more than 1.7 seconds... water easily splashes off but they will soak if you try to drown your foot. One weather proofing con is that, if you do dip your foot, the interior will take a while to dry, even with moderate sun. 5. Break in period is minimal if any.. They felt great right out of the box and continue to feel great, 50-60 hard miles later. On rubbing/chafing: it may occur above your ankle if you don't wear high midweight socks.
Overall, I will continue to speak highly of these boots. I had tried other boots before (e.g. ones from the military, and TNF Fortress Peak GTX, but lately milspec boots were too thin, and TNF Fortress Peak was too big and clunky for my purposes.
I am satisfied with these.... besides, they look good.
The pictures of the boots on the website show a lighter brown then they actually are. They are a darker brown. So far, pretty impressed. Comfortable boots.
Write your question here...I need a light weight EE wide 11 1/2. do they come in this size. I have a pair of Merrell hiking boots but they are not EE and pinch my feet.
These boots have been great in my opinion and I am very impressed with their performance. I see that people have mixed feelings about the sizing but I find the sizes are right on with what I normally wear in other shoes. Width is a bit wider than normal to allow room for wool socks. So far these boots have kept my feet dry in six inches of swamp water, provided warmth in sub freezing temps and given maximum support on sketched-out rocky descents. Well worth the money in every way.
These boots are AWESOME! GREAT ankle support, very comfortable, great grip. I couldn't ask for anything more! It was raining like crazy with 65+ mph wind gusts and these boots stayed dry and kept traction the entire time. I will buy these until they stop making them.
I used these to do the entire Appalchian Trail carrying an average of 40 lbs. Two pairs lasted all 2300 miles, although they were completely worn to the point of my toes sticking out through the sole. The only complaint I had about them is the insole was insufficient which is a minor flaw, almost not worth mentioning, except to suggest that super feet, or an equivalent product be used instead of the stock insoles, as you will suffer greatly in long distance walking if you do not.
I AM FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH JOY DISCOVERING SUCH WONDERFUL TREASURE IN MY DREAM SHOES,THIS IS THE FOURTH OF BEST BOOTS EVER KNOWN.WITHOUT MIXING WORDS,I WILL LIKE TO INCLUDE THIS LUXURY PAIR IN MY LIST OF COMMANDS.I LOVE IT AS IT PORTRAYS.THANK YOU AGAIN FOR CREATING THESE GREAT DISCOVERIES.
