From the coffee shop to the crags, the Patagonia Men’s Boaris Shoe combines skate style with trail-worthy performance. Patagonia lined the full-grain leather upper with wicking mesh infused with bamboo charcoal to manage moisture and odors on summer days. The recycled foam footbed also features carbon to neutralize foot funk, and a nylon arch shank supports your foot on rocky paths. The low-profile Vibram sole gives you traction on the sidewalks or the scree fields.
Bottom Line: In-town style with trail-worthy features.
Typical, excellent Patagonia style and consruction. I have a sz 9 or 9.5, low-volume foot and the 9 fits me very well. I can even use my black Superfeet insoles in these. I wouldn't try using them for hiking (I have better hiking shoes) but, they're great for kicking back in town or the mountains. Highly recommended.
I love these shoes for casual stuff and just whatever. They look great and are super comfortable. They are comfortable right out of the box which is always nice. I haven't used them for hiking and would recomend something different for anything serious. There are better shoes for hiking. I wear a 10.5 in others and these fit with the 10.5
This is my second pair of Patagonia shoes (the other was the Bagley), and I've liked them both. They are well made from great materials, and very comfortable. The Boaris has considerably more cushioning than the Bagley and so is better for being on your feet all day. The sole has enough traction for hikes on dirt trails.
Hey Tim,I've worn them in some foothill walking and I wouldn't ever consider them for hiking with any kind of pack. Far too low profile in the entire sole area. and zero protection up top. They do run true to size so you'll probably stay in an 11.Hope that helps.
I really like the style of these kicks and the Vibram sole is a really nice touch. Unfortunately they were just a bit too narrow for my foot and after three days there were some pain points on the outside of the foot where the stitching creates a noticeable seam.
These shoes rock! They're probably the coolest pair of shoes I've ever seen from Patagonia. I wouldn't exactly call them a hiking shoe though, more of a skate shoe with a Vibram hiking shoe sole - which I love. Most skate shoes I've owned are pretty flimsy and cheap, but these are exactly the opposite. This is a solid pair of shoes, and the Vibram sole is nice to have. Very comfortable, sturdy, and well made. They fit very true to size as well. I've had them for almost a month and they are definitely my favorite pair of shoes.
Clean detailing on these shoes and high-quality textures make them great for casual wear. The heel rises a little higher on the ankle than most casual shoes, but doesn't detract from the looks. Don't plan on wearing them for athletic purposes, since there is no arch support, but the soles are quality rubber and the perforated leather actually breathes well! The toebox is average width, and the sizing is pretty accurate.
these shoes got it all! from the rad storage box to the patagonia ironclad warranty on these shoes!..the boaris is amaaaazing!...super ridiculously comfy. plus, they look great on with shorts and pants. whichever. i'd recommend them to anyone. they fit true to size. i wear a 10.5 in vans slips-on and i got a 10.5 in these bad boys and they fit PERFECT!...you can feel the craftsmanship in these shoes by just holding it in your hand! just wait til you put em on your feet! i was a little concerned about how they looked on from the picture online, but they look even BETTER on! they remind me of like the old nike's. anyways. get some! cus you cant beat the warranty! and they're amazing!
I've been waiting a long time for a pair of good-looking, light brown approach shoes to come along. These fit the bill well and will stand out in a crowd.
To the function and fit of the shoes: Vibram sole is very sticky; good traction and suitable for day hiking with a light load. As mentioned by another reviewer, low profile flat sole with no arch, so not really suitable for anything with a heavy pack. Unlike another reviewer, I found the shoe slightly wide and with a spacious upper. This would be a great shoe for an orthotics user.
5 stars for style, 3.5 stars for approach shoe function, as ideally we'd have something burlier. Hoping more manufacturers will make shoes in the khaki/sand/tan colorway.
