Patagonia insulated the Women's Down Sweater Vest with lofty 800-fill down to keep your core incredibly warm without stifling you in bulky insulation. In fact, this versatile Patagonia vest weighs only six ounces. The DWR-coated 22D polyester shell helps keep the weight down while it fights off light rain on a drizzly day. You can also compress the Down Sweater Vest incredibly small, so you always have room for it in your pack.
Bottom Line: Add extra insulation to your winter wear and add hardly any weight thanks to the six-ounce Patagonia Down Sweater Vest.
I love the down sweater. It is perfect to throw on when you need just little more warmth. It packs super small and is incredibly warm. It is also a great piece for hiking to secret ski stashes or climbing high peaks in the summer.
This vest is really warm and packable. I used my sister's Patagonia Down Vest on a backcountry ski trip last year, and I had to buy one for myself. I'd size up if you're borderline.
This down sweater vest is extremely light weight yet cozy warm. I recently wore this skiing with a base layer and hard shell on a -40 (windchill) day and stayed comfortable all day.
Previous reviewers have talked about how easy this vest is to carry: light, compactable and durable. Yes, it is warm for its weight and comfortable. What no one really mentioned is that it is very stylish as well.
I wore this vest into very nice Restaurants all over Switzerland, and never felt out of place. Yes, it was warm, but it is simply beautiful too. Like all Patagonia women's clothes, they run a little small. I usually wear a large and got an extra large in this vest.
When we got caught in a late summer snow storm at 8000 feet I was very glad to have it in my pack.
A very nice investment for me- very warm, very, light, and packs very small. I bought a small (instead of extra small)for a little extra room for fleece or a heavy sweater underneath and it's perfect.
I have the Patagonia Women's Down Sweater and love it. Wear it always. Light and always keeps me warm. Wanted to get an extra later of down for those snowy trips and the vest is awesome. Great for those days when you don't need that much insulation, like only wearing a sweater underneath and the vest. But for much colder nights, wearing the vest and jacket is perfect. Had to go to the store to find out the right size, though, and ended up getting an medium just in case I wanted to bulk up underneath with a sweater of fleece. Fits ok underneath a size XS jacket, and gives better coverage on the back since it's longer. Great vest, very comfortable, warm, and durable.
I really like patagonia's products and always wear a small but this time I found the small to be too snug in the chest. The black vest has a sort of modern/insect body look to it that's kind of strange.
My boyfriend owns the men's version of this vest and he suggested that I purchase the women's to wear as my primary "jacket" when I head to South Africa during their winter. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. Compared to his, the women's vest is not nearly as puffy or warm, and also ran small. The vest isn't bad, Patagonia makes great quality gear and I own a couple of other pieces, it just wasn't what I was looking for. I wish they would rename this jacket so that other women familiar with the men's equivalent could know that the two models are not one in the same.
