Patagonia Down Sweater Hooded Jacket - Women's

From late-fall belays at the crags to deep, powder-filled winter days, the ultralight warmth of the Patagonia Women’s Down Sweater Hooded Jacket is a welcome addition. The Down Sweater’s baffled 800-fill goose down and windproof, recycled polyester shell fabric make it an obvious choice for any outing where weight and warmth are equally important. When it’s time to climb, hike, or go inside, the Down Sweater stuffs into its interior pocket for easy stowing in your pack.

Bottom Line: The definition of ‘warm and light.’

If I wear a S in the Retrox X fleece, should I get a XS in the down sweater? One being a slim fit and the other being regular fit.

I'd stick with a small for the Down Sweater Hoody if that's what you wear in a Retro X. Sleeve and body length remain similar across slim and regular fits, the slm is just taken in a little in the body.

Awesome coat! When it arrived it was so thin that I didn't trust it to keep me warm. I wore my old North Face coat over it. Ha! I have since figured out that it is every bit as warm as the big bulky coats out there. I love this coat and get compliments on it everywhere I go. I thought the hood adjustment was a bit weird at first. You pull it shut from the back of the head as opposed to near the chin. I like it though. It stays in place. I am 5'3" @ 125 lbs. and I have it in medium. Perfect size over sweaters and sweatshirts, yet still looks great over a thin sweater.

That's a good question regarding the logo, not sure what the exact placement is for all colors honestly, I can try to get the answer and get back to you. The photo above is a pretty good representation of Seaport blue, but it's even a little darker and richer than what's shown, it's a great color for sure.

finally a hoody!

The Down Sweater has been one of my favorite jackets for some time, and now we finally get it in a full zip hoody. I love how it fits and looks as a hoody, and the hood is very warm when it gets really cold, like having a down beanie on. It's still got the great lightweight DWR coated shell for wind and water protection, and 800 fill down inside. Packs into it's own pocket and provides great warmth without overheating too quickly. I'm always amazed at how comfortable and versatile these jackets are. This is a jacket you can wear anywhere, anytime all winter long.

how does this jacket compare to the mtn hardware nitrous? i am debating between the two and they seem the same based on specs, only obvious differences being aesthetics and hood... anything i'm missing? one more thing: i'm a patagonia extra small, curious how that might translate to mtn. hardware sizing?

Annie,
Similar jackets for sure, the Down Sweater Hoody is going to be a tad warmer for you and is 100% recycled poly for the shell. Plus you get the Patagonia quality and warranty to back it up.
