Patagonia Capilene Lightweight Zip-T - Men's - 2005

Capilene is an amazing fabric, which makes the Patagonia Capilene Lightweight Zip-T an amazing shirt. It's what you want to be wearing if you're skiing, jogging or just walking around the city when its chilly. This Capilene Zip-T has an open knit for maximum breathability while still providing insulation from the cold. Capilene wicks sweat from your skin to its surface where it evaporates quickly, leaving you nice and dry. Lightweight Zip-T's make an excellent base layer, fitting closely for easy layering but without being restrictive. The zip neck only adds to the Zip-T's versatility: Wear it up as a warm turtle neck, wear it down for maximum ventilation. The zipper itself even has a draft flap. Flat-seams won't chafe, and the shoulder seams sit cleverly off the shoulder for comfort under pack straps. The shirttail hangs a bit low for additional backside coverage—something snowboarders really appreciate.

best piece of gear i own!

I purchased two sets of Patagonia lightweight Capilene 12 years ago. I eventually shredded the bottoms through falls and cycling wear. The tops I've used nearly weekly through the every winter season since I bought them. The cuffs of the sleeves show a little pilling but otherwise they're like new. Odor washes out every time, and they're soft warm and wicking.

I've acquired other brands over the years and nothing compares to the Capilene for comfort, performance, and durability.

simply the best thermals you can purchase

I have a pair I bought seven years ago (top and bottom) that are still warm and don't smell. The lightweight is plenty warm and wicks very well. I've used them on climbs in the Northeast and Colorado during the winter. I am getting ready to purchase another pair since I am starting to wear these ones out.

Great base layer

Just got my Patagonia Capilene Lightweight Zip-T and am VERY happy with it. So light yet so efficient. A perfect initial base layer upon which to compliment. The neck is comfortable and the zipper is long. The material wicks very efficiently.

Only drawback it that, like more nylon based products, you cant wear it more than once before the BO takes over.
