Gear up for cold weather with the slim-fit Patagonia Women's Capilene 3 Bottoms. Patagonia made these fast-wicking midweight base layer bottoms from 64% recycled honeycomb Capilene 3 material for morning ski tours or any aerobic workout in cold weather. A gusseted crotch allows for easy striding on your cross country skis, while a contoured cut and brushed surface make for comfortable layering. Patagonia's Gladiodor antimicrobial coating keeps the smell down for multi-day hut trips.
Bottom Line: Work hard without working up a sweat while wearing the Patagonia Capilene 3 Bottoms.
I am 5'5" and wear size 4 pants so I ordered small. It still is big for me (on the calf-area) but my husband says that maybe it will shrink a little after washing.
Other than that, this is perfect. Unlike others, the waist doesn't go as high as your ribs so you can still wear this under your low-rise jeans. The fabric is soft and smooth and my silly hubby thinks it's sexy. ;) It is warm and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Very comfortable, I cannot even feel that I am wearing them, and they definitely keep me warm all day. I usually wear under ski pants and it doesn't make you look bigger...
Waist sits a bit high, not for lower-rise women's pants. The review I read saying it's low-rise probably refers to the older version that is darker blue. Also, not very stretchy, so I feel a bit immobile and there's lots of friction when putting on or removing pants over it. Otherwise, really warm and breathable and high quality. I wear them everyday.
Capilene 3 tops/bottoms for women make a perfect base layer for outdoor and even indoor wear when temperatures are forty and below. I had to work hard to find the L/XL sizes. With them I don't have to worry about feeling cold any more. They wash fine in cold water, and dry quickly on a hanger. Don't want to ruin them in a dryer. Owning two sets saves me from buying extra outer layer clothing. Thanks to Patagonia for making them, and for Backcountry.com for their terrific sale price.
Define "you." If you're talking about Patagonia, then the answer is "no." They make capilene, and wool thermal underwear. Both are vastly superior to cotton in regards to heat/cool regulation, moisture, durability, and odor. If by "you" you're asking whether or not the site carries cotton long undies, then the answer is--I think--"no." Almost all long underwear bottoms are wool or a polyester of some sort for the reasons previously stated.
