Stay cool in summer and warm in winter with the lightweight Patagonia Women's Capilene 2 Zip-Neck base layer. Patagonia made this long underwear top from an open-knit synthetic material for maximum breathability. Pull on this long-sleeve Capilene top as a next-to-skin layer for any aerobic activity. Unzip the chest for extra venting while biking in the Capilene 2 on a spring day. Whether you're cross country skiing or climbing, a draft flap and zipper garage keep things comfy against your skin while flat-rib panel-piecing at the underarm and side panels eliminates chafing.
Bottom Line: Wear the Patagonia Capilene 2 Zip-Neck Long-Sleeve Top all year.
i convinced my girlfriend to get one because i have so many of em. (3) she loves hers. there's a teal color that isn't on here but now she's a diehard patagucci junkie. she loves the look and fit of it.
She wears it constantly, washes it, wait until it dries, puts it back on, then starts the process all over again. She has even worn it to sleep in. "It's so warm & comfortable." Guess what one of her presents under the Christmas tree this year will be?

Will this shrink if washed in hot water and dried in dryer? I want it to shrink bc a M would be too big and I want it to fit like small in the capilene 2. (color I want is out in s)
Nancy and I have a bunch of Patagonia's capilene underwear in hot, warm, cold water. Dried them in crappy communal driers without temperature control and none of them have shrunk.
I love this shirt, and it's SO warm! I haven't gotten to wear it as much as i would like becuase it's still kind of warm, but really love this shirt! Definitely recommend!
This is easily one of my favorite layering pieces I've ever owned!! It's great by itself when it gets a little chilly on summer nights, but it's a great layer for the winter months as well. I got it in the poppy fields/summer pink. I love the color and wear it all the time. I only wish I'd bought a smaller size. I bought a medium so I could fit a layer under it comfortably, but a small would've worked just fine; I'm usually a 4 or a 6 top. I highly recommend this piece!!

I love patagonia stuff, but am not crazy about this top. It's mostly the zipper that bugs me, and it might just be this particular shirt, but the zipped up neck seems to... collapse, I guess, when it's all the way up. I prefer the button-up version of capilene shirts. Regardless, you can't beat them for their performance for outdoor activities.
I tend to live in my cap pullovers--2, 3, 4, years live--I am am 5'5" size 4 and used to order the medium for a fitted but able to put over a t shirt fit. This version has longer sleeves and is bigger through the shoulders so I ended up returning the medium for a small-it \fits perfectly. There is also a new to me zipper cover so that the collar lays a little differently than previous cap 2s - not crazy about it ...but still love my shirt.
This capilene 2 underlayer is so wonderful that I want two. I have a lightweight one, also. Now I want the 3. There is no stopping the covetousness over these tops. The 2 is absolutely perfect for multiple wearings before laundering! No body odor here. The comfort is so wonderful that you forget you have it on. Sincerely, don't hesitate to invest in this!
Very thin fabric- great for right next to your skin. Leaves plenty of room for additional layers on top, like fleece. Wicks sweat away, ensuring you won't get the chills when you stop. Great fit- a slim fit, but still a little loose, and long.
I've had two of these for a couple of years now, and I wear them constantly. In the summer they're great for cool evenings, and they're light enough to carry in your daypack just in case. In winter, they're great for layering. I wear them running, backpacking, and even around town. They look good, even after a couple years of use. These will be on my Christmas wish list this year. They are just so versatile. The fit is right on--fitted. Not loose, but not skin tight.
The Patagonia capilene stuff is great - lightweight and way easier to take care of than my silk long underwear, which always snag on things. I have a crewneck as well that I wear under sweaters, but this style of top is great because I'm not a fan of full turtlenecks, so I like to keep it zipped up on blustery ski days or zip it down on warmer days so I don't overheat. These also withstand washing & drying without much wear & tear.
I love this shirt. I'd wear it every day if my roommate wouldn't make fun of me. It's warm and light and it keeps moisture off. I haven't had it for very long, but I'll be wearing it for climbing and marathon training.
This shirt is great for running in Alaska during the summers, I can tell it will make a good base layer too for skiing. It's thinner than my other capilene's which makes a nice addition to my outdoorwear. I am very happy with my purchase.
I had to pry it off myself to get it into the wash I love it so much. The color and the style goes with everything in my wardrobe. Not only that, it's warm and it keeps it's shape. It's light and airy. The mock turtle collar is not a bother. In fact, if you ladies wanna look sexy, you bring the zipper down a tad, and looks nice! This is a great find!!
One of the best things I own. Perfect as a baselayer or even on its own when its just a little cool out. It's not too short either, which seems to happen a lot with other baselayers. I definitely recommend this- you will not regret getting it.
I am an extremely sweaty woman. I cycle as my only transportation and arrive damp to work. I love my Capilene shirts. They dry very quickly, even under sweaters and I do not smell. The natural odor resistant material really works for me. The zipper is perfect for regulating temperature as well as revealing a little skin. I Love them and always want more colors.
if you are debating on whether this purchase is worth your money, you won't be disappointed. just buy it, it will make all your wildest dreams come true.
