Hike a hundred miles, or just sleep late on the weekend while wearing the Patagonia Women's Active Hipsters. Patagonia made this low-riding pair of underwear with an extra-wide waistband that won't bunch when you layer it under long underwear or wear it under a pack's hip-belt. Patagonia made the Hipster underwear from a blended synthetic fabric that's stretchy and wicks perspiration for comfort when you work out, and that dries quickly for easy washing while traveling.
Bottom Line: Keep comfy in the Patagonia Hipsters.
I was looking for a pair of undies that didn't pull all the way up to my armpits and evoke a "Hello Mommy" moment, but wouldn't get too personal (IYKWIM). These fit the bill perfectly! I recently wore them all day hiking with a pack and rock climbing in pretty warm weather. They stayed exactly where they were supposed to, did a good job wicking and breathing, and most importantly they were very comfortable under the pack hip belt AND under the climbing harness. True to size for me, and cut low enough that I wasn't at all worried about them peeking over my pants (I wear my pants a little below my belly button, if that helps). I will buy more.
these are definitely great for working out/hiking/etc and are super-cute. the wide waistband is nice but i've found it rolls down a little from the top sometimes when i'm working out. not a big deal, just a little annoying sometimes.
I LOVE these panties. They let my waist breathe!! It's flexible and not tight anywhere, and yet they stay on. I hate things that bind, and these panties don't at all. I don't even feel them when I have them on. Highly recommended.
Very nice undies!! They are very expensive but worth it for comfort. There is no problem with the "ride-up" factor, so you won't be caught in any embarrassing moments. (well.. not from your underwear)
I bought both briefs and the boy cut shorts by patagonia. The briefs are waaayyy better. They seem to cover me all up so much better (: The boy cut ones didn't seem to come up high enough in the back. I use them both for skiing and much prefer them to anything cotton. I like to keep the cheeks warm.
I also bought the Patagonia boyshorts and these are much better. Unlike the boyshorts they stay put. My underwear collection is slowly becoming a collection of these! Worth every penny.
These are great underwear- not only do they provide great wicking capabilities when worn for outdoor activities, but they are also very flattering. They are most definitely not your typical grandma-looking performance underwear. Fits true to size. Next time they are on sale, I'm buying more.
I think these are amazing! Not only are they cute, but they are comfortable! This underwear moves with you and stays where it should. I have a 'bubble butt' and it makes me happy when I find a nice pair of underwear that actually covers my backside. Very versatile, whether you are in the backcountry, in the gym, or just in your everyday life. As a sidenote...I am heartbroken...mine were stolen when I was doing laundry in the dormitories that I live in. Apparently they are that nice.
The Active Hipster briefs are as advertised. Excellent waist construction is smooth and works well under pack belts (no bumps). Dries very fast even washed backcountry and dried by sleeping with them (days 40s, nights well below freezing). Wick as well as patagonia's "mesh capilene." Excellent product.
I don't know what everyone is talking about. They didn't wick moisture well for me and I wasn't even being that active. The material made me sweat more than usual and I was just waiting to get a yeast infection when I wore them. They were stretchy and fit comfortably and they're really cute. However, I'm sending them back to the capiline recycling program.
If only I knew about these when I was running marathons. The Patagonia Active Hipster Brief will not ride up. Ever. Like going commando only better, because the material wicks incredibly well. I have the Active Brief and the Active Boy Short, but I like the Hipsters the best for the lower cut and comfy fit.
Talk about comfy! These underwear are so soft and fit like a glove. They fit close, but not tight. No muffin top or anything! And they are true to size.
