Stuff your carry-on with a couple pairs of Patagonia Men's Active Classic Boxers, and you're ready for a trip anywhere. Patagonia made these breathable, silkweight boxer shorts from recycled polyester and treated them with Gladiodor natural odor control in case you have to go a few days between washes while traveling. Five-panel construction and a regular boxer cut keep you comfortable whether you're hiking in the mountains or sitting on a plane.
Bottom Line: You'll wear your Patagonia Active Classic Boxers every day and everywhere.
Pretty much the Gold Standard in men's boxer underwear and the most comfortable thing out there. My brother in law claims you can go for weeks without changing them, and while I wouldn't go that far, the nice loose fit and silky material does mean they stay comfy and dry for extended periods of time.
I think I still have my first pair, which says something about their durability. The elastic waist stays strong without being too tight. They are also available in a wide variety of colors and patterns, which means they can double as swim trunks in a pinch.
Back when I use to shop at REI, I would spend all of my dividend cash on getting a few news pairs of these every year. They are kind of pricey, but last forever. They also make a great gift item if you are looking for something for the guy who has everything - kind of the modern day equivalent of a tie for the adventurous type.
These are the only Boxers I wear in the outdoors. They are impossible to kill and are extremely comfortable. I think It is very important to include synthetic underwear in a layering system. What good are all the fancy outer layers if there is cotton right next to your skin? These aren't just a alternative to cotton they are way better. Its also nice to have a technical layer that has the cut and feel of regular underwear.
This was the hottest hot tub I have ever experienced and I'm sure temperatures like this would be illegal in the US! It took about an hour to slowly immerse into this pool in northern Iran. Entry cost was about $.50 and it is hard to go wrong with almost killing yourself for so cheap.
I didn't have a proper swim suit, but these Patagonia Silkweight boxers were appropriately modest enough, even for the Iranians.
I have been to the corners of the earth, and seen the many wonders of this planet and the many achievements of mankind, and can say without hyperbole that these boxers are the universe's greatest accomplishment. Stretchy, soft, light, way more fun to wear than underwear should be, I love these damn things. And Backcountry rules. I ordered them on a Thursday and received them on Monday, and that's with the free shipping they say will take 7-10 days.
I am currently stationed in Iraq with the MN National Guard with this being the second summer you learn quickly you need everything to be moisture wicking. The Active Classic Boxers fit the bill. At 7:00am, the temperature is already 90 F most days and by 3:00pm, we hit the low to mid 120s F. You sweat all the time and these boxers beat briefs easily at wicking moisture away and are comfortable to boot. I have a couple of pair and they can easily be rinsed and dried when you are on the go. Since water is precious and at times, saving it only for drinking you can easily go several days with out changing boxers and not smelling like the locals.
This is the next generation of Patagonia silkweight boxers where they added a natural odor fighting agent. I've used them on the trail and they are able to go for week without any noticeable stinch. Another plus is that the waistband is a bit beefer which makes them a 1/2oz or so heavier that the old version. But I consider that another improvement because the band stands up better after washings.
I buy these for my high school and college age sons. They say there's nothing as comfortable as these. The only negative from my youngest was that they scuch up some when wearing tight jeans. I spoil my boys.
These boxers provide extreme comfort, do a great job of regulating moisture and temperature, and have just the right amount of stretch. The only downside is that, because of their baggy fit, they tend to ride up a lot more than the boxer brief version. I'd go with the boxer briefs.
This are made of great wicking material it looks like. I never owned them long enough to wear em'. They are way too baggy for and average sized guy in my opinion (i'm 6'0" 190) and ordered the Medium's. The legs have a lot of extra material and they extend halways to the kneecap. The cool designs dont' make up for the potential wedgies these will create. I returned them right after I looked at them. GO WITH THE EX OFFICIO GIVE n' GO BOXERS!
not a bad boxer, but nothing special about it either. i think it is a little overpriced and preferred the other ones i got instead. look at ibex or icebreaker for some nice merino boxers that i think fit and feel better
I love these boxers! They are comfortably smooth. I ordered these a few years back and fell in love with them. Now, I came back and got some more.
They have changed since then, but for the better. Kind of like a model upgrade. It's noticeably longer by an inch or 2, and it's waistband is smoother now. It has a micro-fleece like feel to it. That's an improvement to me, because it helps with minor chaffing. This is especially important since I have a very sensitive skin condition. I really don't want that band digging into me and I really don't want to order a size larger and have it falling off me.
These work OK, but there are better choices. For me (one of the great all-time sweaters), they get damp too quickly, which makes them ride up more than I like. My fave so far is from ExOfficio - slightly better performance, better price.
Had a couple of pairs of these boxers and they were so great, the ex took em when she moved out...luckily the design or material haven't changed...still my favorite boxers.
I got these for my boyfriend and he found them a little too baggy for his liking. They fit well in the waist, but there is a lot of material in them that could get bunchy. They sort of fit like a little skirt...he's about 5'4" 130lbs for a reference. Maybe they are just too big despite fitting in the waist.
I must have at least 10 pair at this point, simply so that I'll never have to suffer with anything less. They're amazingly comfortable, they look great, and they last forever. A little spendy, but your boys are worth it, right?
These are expensive but they are simply the most comfortable underwear I have ever used for hiking and travel. Unlike any other brand I have tried, I can walk, hike and sweat in these all day without any chaffing or discomfort. I have given four stars simply because of the cost.
There's a reason nearly every review here is five stars: these babies are very comfortable, wick all the moisture away, don't get all bunched up, easily dry overnight, and take a serious beating.
Only downside: none of these good wicking boxers should be used with fabric softeners... but they don't need them. Mine are still soft after about a year of heavy use.
After wearing these sick boxers. Can't even tell you got anything on down there with these on. Nice job Patagonia! I Highly recommend these boxers. Worth the price.
These are definitely the best pair of boxers that have ever touched my butt! They move well, breathe fantastically and look great. I like these better than my 100% silk ones...
its ok but if you consider the price, its a bit over rated. 1) the seams on in the rear so it can chaff your butt. 2)Its suppose to wick moisture away from your body by dispersing moisture. Think about that for a minute, Do I want moisture from that area of my body spreading? Answer is NO. Again, it alright but nothing spectacular.
