Petzl Reverso Belay Device - 2006
The Petzl Reverso Belay Device is used for belaying a leader or follower on single or double ropes (8-11mm). Attached to the power point of an anchor, it is self locking when belaying one or two following climbers. This system allows you to safely take your hands off the rope so you can eat, drink and organize gear as you belay, saving time on multi-pitch ice climbs. Notches added to the break-hand side increase friction when belaying a leader, so it's easy to catch your friend when he takes a massive screamer off the second pitch.
Bottom Line: The Reverso is the essential to multi-tasking on big climbs.
