My favorite all-around pants

By:
August 14, 2006

These are quite simply one of the most comfortable pair of pants I own. The features make these a great wear anywhere / do anything pant. The stretchy nylon fabric is soft to the touch and not the least bit restrictive, the gusseted crouch is a plus too, and the nylon dries quickly. I agree with the other reviewers that the side pocket zippers can be cumbersome at times. I've lived in these pants on a few multi-day hikes in summer through late fall, and the breathability is fantastic. The hook-and-loop fly didn't take long to get used to - but be careful if you dry them in a dryer - lots of lint got caught in the hook-and-loop closure. Warning: the sizing runs large - I'm a medium in nearly everything, but these pants I wear a small.

Great pants

By:

I just got off the mountain in Kentucky. I ran a blackbear trapline for a month. These pants were incredible for mobility and were great at wicking water away. Great pants. I already bought two more pairs. Thanks.

pranda fit problems

By:
September 26, 2005

these pants dont fit! I wear a large in Patagonia and ExOfficio with no problem I ordered a large in these and they were snug in the waist ,tight in the thighs and short waisted as well.
I exchanged them for an XL and the waist was acceptable but the thigh and crotch room was still poor.I returned them as well.

Ahhhh...the crisp feel of Prana..

By:

These pants are incredibly easy to move in, whether it be climbing or hiking. They wick sweat away nicely, very breathable also. It's got the triple velcro 'zipper' which I've gotten used to (having some other Prana's similar). All around swanky pants. Try them, Love them. Cheers

Comfort and Versatility

By:
July 12, 2004

I wear these to work and to hike/climb in; haven't received any tickets from the fashion police yet... AND they are quite comfortable. The zipper pulls on the thigh pocket are a little difficult to fish out, but are also less likely to snag on a 'biner, etc.

Nylon is "No problem"

By:
June 6, 2005

I broke in my Zion Pants on my trip to the southwest and west of Ireland. It’s damp there, let there be no doubt. I would have been miserable in jeans. Nylon breathed and dried quickly. I like that the cargo pockets provide lots of room for stuff without being obnoxiously prominent. Obviously, nylon is tough and looks like it will hold up for years. The stretch, well that's a secret between you and me, and we're not going to talk publicly about why it helps, but it does without looking tacky. Given the toughness, quick drying, classy look, large capacity pockets, and the stretch that helps without looking gross, I think these pants are a bargain.

prana stretch zion pant

By:

This pant IS NOT waterproof, but it is a tough and comfortable pant. I used it in the Bighorns on a 7-day trip and it worked great, but you better get something else to keep you dry.

Prana pants rock

By:
October 21, 2005

Well, it really wasn't for me; it was a gift for my boyfriend and the moment he opened the gift he put them on. He loves them! He likes the stretchiness of it. The sewn eyelets in the crotch, though when I saw it I thought it was funny, he appreciates the ventilation. This is a great set of pants! I love the fact that you guys had it in bronze, everywhere else I went, even prana's website, said it was out stock. Thanks so much!

Pants are good

By:

The pants are everything they are advertised to be so far. Be aware that they shrink when you wash them for the first time.

Pants comfortable and fit great.

By:
January 16, 2006

I have a hard time finding pants that fit (34x36). Most are too short and since I weight train, too tight in the seat/thighs. My work pants of choice are loose fit Carhartt jeansand these prAna (large) fit just like the Carhartts. They are very comfortable and the Lycra makes it easy to make that widestem, backstep or highstep while climbing. They do not interfere with my harness, are lightweight, and cool. They are not waterproof (no uncoated nylon is) but they dry quickly which is an awesome feature in the backcountry. They also take up less room in a pack than cotton pants. I find the unusual fly ok but I like the pocket arrangement and zipper side pockets. I will not be purchasing cotton climbing/hiking pants again anytime soon.

Fantastic pants....

By:
February 24, 2006

I have three pairs. They're fantastic, I wear them for everything from travel to work to social occasions, in everything from winter cold to hot rainforests. They're superb, very durable, comfortable enough to wear around the house, and look sharp enough to be the only pants you bring on a trip. Inconspicuous cargo pockets and good colors add to the appeal.

Mt. Zion Stretch Pants

By:
March 28, 2005

Somewhat disappointing. Pants are quite tight, not loose-fitting and only have a slight stretch - they bind me a bit at the knees when I have to step out to reach a ledge, for example. As for color, they're described as "Olive" which to me means a shade of green. These pants are brown. Altogether, not a strong recommendation.
