POC Receptor Helmet - 2007

The POC Receptor Helmet passes certifications for snow sports, biking, skateboarding, and kayaking, so you no longer need a closet full of brain buckets. This meticulously engineered, skateboarding-inspired helmet withstands multiple smaller impacts, and it crushes to absorb the force of a catastrophic crash. Top vents help you stay cool in the summer and removable plugs close them off for winter use. POC also developed a special liner that helps the Receptor Helmet provide warmth for snow sports without absorbing water when you take it on the river in the spring.

Bottom Line: The POC Receptor Helmet keeps your dome safe through summer and winter.

for skiing this is a great helmet:
Pros - comfortable, cool colors and a rubbery exterior finish that people seem to dig. the different ear, neck, and inside pad variations make it very customizable.
Cons - heavy, thicker than most helmets, which probably means safer but it looks a little bulky.

I will add some more comments once I have tried it out in the water.

"Will it work on the moon", you say ? Well, I'm not planning on the moon anytime soon but does it meet SNELL or ASTM criteria and what does POC stand for ? Is it Svensk ?
Can you give me the weights of the various POC models ?
Thanks, Victoria

very cool and great fit

The venting system worked great on the first day out, keep me all nice and cool. Can't find anything that stops venting which is great for me; but if you get a chilly nogin it may not work. Very comfy!! with a couple of options on pad thickness a nice fit was a cinch to find. only drawback is no goggle retention straps.
