This large-sized commuter pack features a main compartment with a padded laptop sleeve (holds up to a 17-inch) and an office organizer compartment to hold documents and the day's paper. Is the bag waterproof?

it's not fully waterproof, but there's a DWR coating on it it protect from moisture and light rain. Wouldn't want it out in a downpour, but there's enough to give you a little protection

The vertical "patagonia" writing might be slightly reflective, but seems like a bit of an oversight by the company. That's my only complaint with the bag.

17 inches refers to the diagonal measurement of the screen, not the width of your computer.

It is 16" (H) x 11.5" (W) x 8" (D). Also, note that despite the name of the product, it is 1550 cu in, not 2550.
