The Paha Qué Tepee is the camping industry's first fully equipped portable outhouse shell, and represents a common sense evolution in luxury camping. You provide the port-a-potty and the shower (see Paha Qué Power Shower), and the Tepee provides the privacy, design, and organization for comfy camp facilities. Its roomy measurements include 67" vertical walls, a 54" x 54" floor, and a peak height of 94". The Tepee is portable, and easily stows in an 8" x 26" zippered carry bag that weighs about 10lbs. Easy to follow instructions are sewn right inside the carry bag, and promise a five minute, one person set-up, which is great when time is of the essence, if you know what we mean.
Bottom Line: Tepee or not tepee? That is the question. The answer is YES!
If I only had this years ago. Combine the tepee with a Zodi instant hot water shower and you have a winner. The tepee is very well constructed and will withstand most anything you can throw at it. Just make sure you put it up a couple of times before you go to the woods. Its a bit awkward at first but after you figure it out its a breeze.
This is one cool and useful tent! It is easy to put up (and I am tent-challenged!) and VERY roomy on the inside. You can use if for showering, changing clothes, porta-pottie, or even a place to store water toys where they won't blow away! We love it. There are two ways to use it - with the nylon, seal-in floor, or on the bare ground. It has noseeum netting around the bottom to keep the buggies out either way. There is a net hammock for your solar shower bag - it only holds a 2.5 gallon bag so be warned. If you want to use a bigger bag you'll need to hang it from a tree and use one of the USEFUL roof line zippers to let in the hose. This tepee tent is well-designed, easy to use, and seems to be made of high quality materials that will last a long time. I'm 100 percent satisfied. If you're thinking about the drain capture floor to go with it, read my review first and save yourself some money.
I felt a little silly for buying this at first, and got a few giggles from my friends... but after camping last weekend in the freezing weather i will never camp without it, it helped out so much.
It was easy to put up and the bag is huge so i had no problems packing it. I like that the floor is seperate from the outhouse, with the mud it make it much easier to clean. And the same people that giggled at me for buying it are now wanting one... Great Buy.
I am totally impressed with the Tepee. The first couple of times it did take me about 10 minutes to set up. However, I do have it down to 5 minutes now. We used it camping this weekend and we had a lot of people to stop by and inquire about it. I am 100% pleased with my purchased it has met my needs and far exceeded my expectations. You will not be disappointed!!!
Got to the campground after dark and set up the Tepee in less than 10 minutes. (Set it up in the front yard first after it got delivered, which I highly recommend.) Used the outside shower faucet on our Coleman tent-trailer as the water supply. Our friends, who have an inside shower in their tent trailer, used our Tepee because it had much more side to side clearance. They will be purchasing one soon.
I purchased the Paha Que Tepee tent and love it. I was very pleased. It was easy to put together and gave me no problems packing it up. This is the first product from Paha Que that I've purchased, but, will definitely purchase Paha Que products again. Thank you Sherry
Overall, I like the Tepee. The set up and take down takes time to perfect. The product could have been made easier to set up if it was designed with pole sleeves on the outside of the structure. Instead, you must set up the poles from the inside. I tore the mesh wall doing this. The fly for the top doesn't exactly go on easily either and you will probably (depending on your height) need to stand on something to get the fly on. Unfortunately, you have to put the smaller top poles on after the structure is standing, and the fly goes on after that. The Teepee is made of quality materials and the poles are extremely strong. If you dont mind the set up and take down, the Teepee will serve you well. I probably would not have bought it if I had known of the hassle. I know other people just leave the poles in all the time and just lay the Tepee collapsed. I dont have room in my SUV to leave it like that.
We love our little portable outhouse/shower teepee!
It's simple for one Auntie to assemble, and very easy to move or flatten if high winds threaten. We use this in a kid's camp setting, with a Coleman portable toilet in it - the kids love it, and this is one tough tent - it gets lots of abuse from practical jokers...
When it's really hot, I use the included mesh shower bag holder to support a lawn sprinkler overhead. The whole teepee shudders and shakes with squealing, giggling kids inside - it's a hit!
Five minutes to put up is what is says on the packaged instructions, hah!!
Unless it is pretty cold, you will work up a sweat assembling this one. I have 6 tents and shelters and this one is such a b*^#h, I took it back. Why the heck they put the poles on the inside, I don't know. You practically have to crawl into it to assemble it (sweating now); and then you have to bow the poles about a foot out to get them in their grommets (I need some shade and a cold shower).
Save your money on this and get something that is not such a Rube Goldberg contraption. It has a lot of nice features and is made of very substantial material, but the design needs to be rethought.
We are not 'outdoors' people but needed some renovations on the bathrooms in our home. We purchased the Teepee and set it up in the backyard for showers. I brought hot and cold water to it from the house through garden hoses and connected them to a Y valve hose connector. A wide handheld lawn sprinkler became the shower head. We've been using it for two weeks now and it has worked out great. The Teepee is everything we expected and we would not hesitate to purchase other Paha Que products. This site could not have been nicer or more helpful. Although we will probably never use the Teepee again, this was a very positive experience.
