Outdoor Research Option Balaclava

This Balaclava is awesome. It's not windproof, but it blocks out the majority of the wind that comes against it. It's very warm, and doesn't ride up too much. It looks a bit odd when you wear it as a hat, but it is still functional.

I am looking for one to use with a road bike, under the helmet.

I am looking for one to use with a road bike, under the helmet. The opening needs to be large enough to easily wear glasses, and just go to the chin. All the ones I tried on in stores today have too small an opening. Do you think this model will help??

looks wide but most are small do to the fact people want the face to be kept warm the can be pulled under the chinbut it does not feel great. they can be cut have seen that before

Works well as a light weight option. Hard to breath through if you pull it up over your mouth or nose. It works best when the opening goes from your chin to your forhead.

The balaclava fits snugly on your head and the hole is large enough to expose your mouth, nose and eyes. You can pull it up to cover your mouth when it's really cold.

Haven't had to use it much, but it's surprisingly warm and very light. I always bring it backpacking because it's tiny and weighs nothing. My only complaint is that it's a little small (or I have a big head).
