Outdoor Research Helium Awning Shelter - 2007

The Outdoor Research Helium Awning is an incredibly versatile, lightweight summer shelter for up to three people. The Helium Awning shelter has five stake-out loops with tension buckles and six additional guy-line loops, allowing it to be set up in several configurations. With two trekking poles (not included) or big sticks, this Outdoor Research shelter can be set up in six different ways to provide optimal coverage depending on weather, terrain, and the amount of campers. At only 19.7oz, the ultralight Helium Awning is perfect for groups who want to cut pack weight.

needs better reinforcememt to center tethering tag.

Don't know why tarps are so expensive. This tarp would be great but for the fact that the center loop/attaching point ripped off on the very first erection. It was a little windy but all the other attaching points held out through much worse later on. I found out the same thing had happened to the same tarp someone else I know had. Shame this one design flaw spoils an otherwise great product.

What a Disappointment

I would only recommend this product to someone who is planning on putting this up and never taking it down, because you will need 20 people to fold it up and you will likely never get it back into it's stuff sack. The material is made for light weight, but it's impossible to handle due to it's slippery surface and flimsy material.
