Outdoor Research Furio Pant - Men's - 2007

A combination of Gore-Tex Paclite and Gore-Tex Pro fabrics makes the Outdoor Research Men's Furio Pants tough enough for harsh storms and light enough for alpine ascents. In the mountains, dry=warm, and these pants' waterproofed fabric, taped seams, and water-resistant zippers won't let a drop of heat-sapping moisture in. The Furio Ski Pants adjust to changes in the weather with full-length side zippers and removable gaiters. Articulated knees allow climbers and skiers to move freely and get the most out of their days in the mountains. Thanks to reinforcements in high-use areas, these Outdoor Research pants handle your burly trip without any issues.

Bottom Line: Count on the versatile Outdoor Research Furio Pants when you need weather protection in the high country.

very nice

I have used these on 3 trips now and so far I love them, although they are for colder climates. I would like something a little more versatile. Too hot for warm climates.

Buy These Now!

I'm on my second season with these bad boys and I love 'em. As a ski patroller and back-country enthusiast, they've kept me dry in the most wicked of conditions. The fit allows maximum mobility and the side zips work great for ventilation while climbing. They're also very lightweight and packable for spring ascents.

Make sure you get the suspenders though. The waist belt isn't very effective.

Consider your size

By:
September 30, 2008

I'm 5'10" and about 160 lbs. and bought these in a medium, and I have to say they fit fairly well for a hard shell designed to go over multiple layers. However, if you decide to wear only a light base layer underneath them, pick up a pair of the suspenders while you're here. The built-in belt only tightens to a point, and Outdoor Research, for whatever reason, manufactures their garments too big for the respective size. They need to reconfigure their sizing chart.

Goretex inner started to peel off

By:
July 29, 2008

I used these pants on 2 expeditions before denali with decent success. During my Denali expedition the goretex liner started to peal off to the point where there many areas that were not protected. Pretty scary starting an expedition. The pants fit great and I really dig OR stuff but I do not recommend these pants.

rips easily

By:
January 5, 2009

These pants are comfortable and look great, but the durability is poor. I've ripped them twice and the second time is clearly a design flaw. They ripped 10 inches down the right leg from the zipper seam when I leaped across a creek. The stitching is a single thin row and the fabric just ripped away.

Come on these aren't pajamas, they need to withstand a little seam stress! Maybe the OR designers are expecting you to only wear them posing in a Seattle coffee shop.

shocked

I was so excited by these pants. They fit perfectly and looked awesome. They performed great and then after 5 days of skiing a 10 inch rip opened on the inner leg. Atrocius craftmanship.
