Outdoor Research Ferrosi Hooded Softshell Jacket - Women's

With a name like an Italian sports car, the Outdoor Research Women’s Ferrosi Hooded Softshell Jacket gives sleek and stylish protection from light weather, with added stretch for athletic activities like climbing or hiking. The tough Cordura fabric holds up to repeated trail abuse, and the offset front zipper won’t rub against your chin. Outdoor Research also added hood and hem cinch cords for sealing out chilly wind.

Bottom Line: An aerobic softshell for high-output activities.

What does the inside of this jacket feel like?
I want to get a feel for how warm it would be. (i.e. does it have a fleeced interior? or is it more like a pure shell with little to no insulation?)

It's a pure shell. There is no insulation in the Ferrosi. This thing won't insulate you, but it will help to cut the wind. If you're looking for a warmer softshell check out the OR Mithril Stormshell.

My Go-To Jacket for the mountains

By:
May 27, 2009

As soon as the snow started to melt in the mountains, this has been my #1 go-to jacket for all my activities: rock climbing, hiking, and even heading out to dinner with friends. It is lightweight, yet bomb-proof... the perfect middle ground between a windshirt and a softshell. The fabric is comfortably stretchy and the cut is flattering. I used to be a lightweight windshirt person, but after ripping too many of them, I'm now sold on the Ferrosi for nearly everything.

Must have jacket! My favorite jacket for Rock Climbing. Love the hood it works great with a helmet. It could compress smaller to replace my super light wind jacket.Love how sticky the fabric is in off-width and chimney's! :)

Hey Andrea. The pockets are not accessible whilst wearing a harness/pack, unfortunately. That being said this hoodie has enough redeeming qualities that I will heartily recommend it. It's likely my favorite garment from OR.
