Osprey made the Talon 4 Lumbar Pack with a StraightJacket compression system to hold it in place whether you’re on a chill hike, moving over boulders, or even running. Two water-bottle pockets keep the H20 close at hand, and two side pockets hold anything from your energy bars to your point-and-shoot camera. Osprey also added a front zippered pocket and an internal mesh pocket to keep absolutely everything organized.

I bought this pack for some biology field work. I just needed to carry water, a field guide and some snacks. My main concern was if my Peterson field guide would fit...it did! It also holds my two CamelBak .75L bottles with ease. My only complaint is the thinner waist belt. It can start to dig in after a long day.

This is the single best lumbar pack I have ever used. I've had it for about a month now, and it sits well on 18 mile runs. I plan on running much further with it too. The materials are great, and Osprey used a lot of attention to detail. Instead of using the same size straps as all of their other packs, they've miniaturized straps just for this lighter, smaller package. No bottles included, which is great, because very few companies make good bottles. Nice bottle restrains too. Trust me on this one since I live and train in Kuwait...the vents on the back are awesome. Everything cinches down nice and tight which makes for a very secure load. I wouldn't bother to write a review if this wasn't an awesome piece of equipment that everyone who runs long distances on trails should have.
