Yes. You would just put the board over the ice axe.

Waste of money

I bough this pack for work but after loading it with skins and avalanche gear there is no room for anything else. The pack is poorly designed. They claim its for patrollers and avalanche professionals but there is no way that I can use this for patrol. Don't spend your money on this item, there is barely enough room for a day trip. I personally like the Black Diamond Anarchist Avalung pack.

Sounds like it is a light HDPE plastic with an alu stays.

From Osprey's Kode owners manual:

Suspension systems consist of an HDPE framesheet,Lightwire™peripheral alloy frame, thermo-sculpted SnowShed™ backpanel and foam padded Kode hipbelt and harness for the utmost in comfort, carry and performance.

Wikipedia on HDPE: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polyethylene high-density (PEHD) is a polyethylene thermoplastic made from petroleum. It takes 1.75 kilograms of petroleum (in terms of energy and raw materials) to make one kilogram of HDPE. HDPE is commonly recycled, and has the number "2" as its recycling symbol. In 2007, the global HDPE market reached a volume of more than 30 million tons[1].
