Does anyone know if the battery will last a year from when you buy it or is that 1 year battery life mean from when they made it because I cant afford to have it go dead while Im on the trail

It a great "little" device. It has all the options you need. It graphs the change in barometric pressure and that's all I really wanted in the watch. The only complaints lie in its large face size and the useless compass. The problem mainly lies in watch compasses in general. If you want a compass...BUY A COMPASS. It has a great price point and that's what matters!

I have a Suunto and while the features are nice, it's a PAIN to use and set up. Not sure if the newer ones are better or easier to work with, but can anyone chime in on the Origo as far as ease of use and clarity of screen? I will not buy a Suunto again...

If you haven't checked out the new Suunto Core, the interface is way easier to use than the Vector/Observer. based on a menu similar to most cell phones.

Anyone know what the band is like on this watch? Would it fit over my ski jacket (with layers underneath of course)? Or would it be too tight and have to put it directly on my wrist? How's the compass? I can't believe it would be "useless" as that reviewer said, otherwise it would be on BC Outlet...
