Optimus Solo Cook System - 2009

Cook up a gourmet meal for one with the ultralight Optimus Solo Cook System. This trimmed down set comes with a .6-liter pot, a small frying pan that doubles as a lid, and the Optimus Crux Lite stove. The tiny stove boils water in just three minutes depending on conditions, and the wire flame control lets you simmer or scorch. Integrated pot handles make for easy cooking and eating, and the components all store together in the included mesh sack. At just a tad over eight ounces for the whole kit, you won’t be sawing off your toothbrush handles and trimming map edges to cut weight.

Bottom Line: Fallen log for one, right this way.

So far so good.

I'm extremely happy with the Optimus Crux Lite stove. The pot is a little on the small side, but I'm not going to complain too much about that. I've been freezer bag cooking all my meals and these require all under 2 cups of water. I'll definitely recommend this setup so someone who is wanting to shave some weight and bulk off their pack while still having the connivence of a canister stove. I'll be heading out for 21 days in May so we'll see if my thoughts change after that, but right now I'm very satisfied.

This is my first canister stove and I love it!! The pot is a little small, the frying pan is even smaller, but good for a poached egg ! I opted for the .95L upgrade pot and pan setup, it holds the 220 canister as well. If you are thinking about buying this stove.... DO IT!! you will be happy with your investment.
