Optimus Crux Lite Stove

Serious about shaving weight? Take the frame out of your pack, cut the tags off your jacket, and get yourself the 3.3oz Optimus Crux Lite Stove. This incredibly lightweight stove folds down to a super-compact size, and comes with a stuff sack that fits in the hollow space under your butane canister. The Optimus Crux Lite Stove's 3000W output boils a liter of water in as little as three minutes, and a simmer knob lets you cook food instead of burning it.

Bottom Line: The Optimus Crux Lite Stove packs the power and performance of bigger stoves without all the weight.

Nice Stove

The stove worked fine for me. After use, the pot supports were much harder to fold in and out. After a few uses this changed and it is easier to fold in/out now. It did well in mild wind and boiled quite quickly. Someone posted 2.5oz as the weight and the website says 3.3oz. I believe BC has false info also but whichever it is, this stove is light weight and packs in my GSI nesting mug. I enjoyed the stove and do not think I could find one that I like better.

The Crux Lite stove is compatible only with compressed gas, canisters employing a screw-on, Lindal valve. These canisters can be found most anywhere in the US but are not yet available world-wide. It will not burn white gas.

Love my Crux Lite

By:

Small, hot, and light. Some of the information in the above product description applies to the more deluxe Optimus Crux i.e. the burner head doesn't fold down on the Crux Lite, but the pot stabilizing prongs fold in, as does the flame control handle. It gets almost as small as the Crux and is lighter. Weight 2.5 OZ.

What I really like about this stove is: The burner head spreads the flame out, and I can cook a soup or stew on simmer and not scorch the food. It's still supposed to be the hottest stove in it's class with 10,200BTU. Dee

I wonder if the base can be unscrewed from the burner? The Optimus website isn't very clear on this. Does any have one of these or know someone who does?

Refering to the picture shown above: No. It's darn small as is---the burner doesn't fold down like on the Crux. The arms on the burner do fold in and the green flame control also folds in. I love mine! DeeIt doesn't fold down like the Crux but it is slightly lighter, if that's any consolation.

They say: "This incredibly lightweight stove folds down... and comes with a stuff sack that fits in the hollow space...."I wonder if they mean the other Crux stove (not "Lite"). Does anyone know? This one looks like "Crux lite"- and does NOT fold down... Check out www.optimus.se

You're absolutely correct. This one does not fold down like it's unique, older sibling but its 21 grams lighter.http://www.optimus.se/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=97

I recently purchased this stove to use for my job. I had a project this year in the smokey mountains that required being out of touch most of the day. this stove made lunchtime cooking much easier and since each of us carry tools and other items weight played a big part in my pick
