Old Town Adventure 139 XL Kayak
If you think the 139 in the Old Town Adventure 139 XL Kayak stands for 139 good reasons to get on the water, you’re partly right. Mostly it stands for 13ft 9in, which is the length of this extra-roomy craft. A shallow V-hull design provides plenty of stability when you’re on the ocean or lake, and the bow and stern hatches hold your lunch, sunscreen, and extra layers. Since there are 139 ways a stiff kayak seat can drive you crazy, the Adventure’s seat-back adjusts forward, back, up, and down, and the seat pan angles up or down to your liking. Adjust the foot pegs to the proper length for your legs and enjoy your paddle.
Bottom Line: All-day paddling.

I do believe that old town makes a skirt. Though from our experience with ours it is not needed. The boat is extremely stable and leaning over for photos has never turned it over. However i made a work deck for my wifes' patterned off of our Rush work deck. I also made travel covers and a simple spray deck for our 139. It is not tight around the belly but it does prevent rain from getting in. On the Rush Norma (the cat) suns herself and on the 139 she lays on my wifes' PFD which you see she doesn't wear!

This boat is my wifes' first and none of us will part with it! The kayak is stable and a favorite place for our camping cat Norma. The cat and my wife lean out to view fish and the boat doesn't tip over! It tracks well and has terrific speed and confort. The hatches have hinged lids and cammed catches which keep them closed tight and waterproof. Playing on the kayak as my children will do, climbing on jumping off and purposely turning it over, the boat has never gotten our dry gear wet. The cargo areas are massive and easy to load and get into from the seat. I am looking for a second one so my wife and I can tour and camp together. I would like mine in Blue. The orange color is great for my wife even when she is towing kids in canoes back to shore during my canoeing classes. Thank You Old Town.
Change me.
