Is this a good kayak for a beginner?

This would be an excellent kayak for a beginner. It handles waves extremely well (also functions well on flat water). The molded-in keel gives support while allowing tremendous handling. Not too long, heavy, or pricey makes it a great purchase!

Yes, apparently you can. Ocean Kayak said that you would have to add the front rivet attachments yourself, though.
