Oboz Yellowstone Waterproof Hiking Shoe - Men's

Cross streams without a second thought when you wear the Oboz Men's Yellowstone WP Hiking Boots on the trail. These light hikers feature waterproof nubuck leather and a proprietary waterproof membrane. This membrane not only prevents water from soaking your socks, it also lets your sweating soles breathe so your feet stay dry. Injection-molded external heel cages combined with Oboz' Radial Fit System, which integrates shoe uppers and bottoms for a stable fit, give your feet the support they need on uneven terrain. Cushiony midsoles absorb shock and high-friction outsoles provide essential traction.

Bottom Line: You don't have to hop from rock to rock or find a log to balance on when you cross high mountain streams while wearing your Oboz Yellowstone Hiking Boots.

Hi, I have been looking at the Wind River US size 11/ UK size 10. Are the Yellowstone similar in height to the W/River? and are the sizes and fit the same? Do you sell the W/River boots, if so what price delivered to Australia.
Regards, Ken

great boots!!

By:
June 21, 2009

Given 30 miles of tough terrain on my Grand Gulch hike, these boots did pretty good. At the end I did get 1 blister. I also had to completely take the laces out of the first 2 or 3 strands to make them a bit wider for my feet so that the lacing started midway. I also had to add arch supports. The other thing I didn't like was the the rounded outside edges that made the shoes not have a platform feel. Overall, however, they were great.

Would you recommend the Yellowstone for a narrow 'B width'

Would you recommend the Yellowstone for a narrow 'B width' men's foot with a skinny/small heel? I'm in Massachusetts and it sounds like the boot would be good for all season / all terrain use. I'm just concerned about the fit. Other boot I was looking at was the Oboz Wind River because of the ankle support, but I'm only doing light to moderate hiking, not backpacking.

This is more of an average width boot. If you're looking for something more narrow you might check out the line of La Sportiva. They pretty much all fit a bit narrower than average and have a pretty narrow heel as well.

Breaking In

By:

Initially the boots were uncomfortable around my ankles but this changed after a few weeks of breaking in. Now they're a good fit and true to size. Recommended!

Not the softest ride but sturdy! There's probably many shoes that will work for you. One might start out great but down the road it could end up effecting your knee. If it were me, I ask the orthopedic surgeon what they think. They'll most likely have better information for you than anyone here. I wish I could be of more help.
