Oboz Switchback Hiking Shoe - Men's - 2008

After work on a sunny summer day, lace up your Oboz Men's Switchback Hiking Shoes, and take a quick hike in the foothills. These low-cut light hikers feature breathable mesh uppers so your feet don't overheat and cushy midsoles that absorb impact. Oboz' Radial Fit System integrates the shoe uppers and bottoms to give your feet the stability and support they need on uneven terrain. High-friction outsoles on the Switchbacks provide essential traction.

Bottom Line: Pull on your Oboz shoes and tackle those switchbacks.

150 miles & no blisters

By:
May 9, 2009

I walked daily about 13 miles for 150 miles. This was on the C&O Canal towpath. It is on the level all the way, no switchbacks or climbs. The repetition of the same step and stride without variation is in some ways harder on legs and feet than hill climbing. At the end of the hike my feet were in very good shape without blisters or other problems.

Great Shoe

By:
April 23, 2009

Just got these in the mail yesterday and they are great! I went on a small hike to break them in and they felt great. If these last me for a few years I don't know if I'll ever buy a different brand of hiking shoe. I just wish they made the same model water proof, I'd buy a pair of those too and throw my Merrels away.

light and solid

Going on about a month with these, and they've been solid. The sticky sole is really stable, but doesn't mark up the floor like other sticky soled shoes. I also like the weight of these which is fairly light, especially considering the support that they offer. Great hiking, and even better off trail with a stiff midsole and rockered bottom. They'll be on my feet every day once the snow melts!

I dig these kicks.

These shoes have worked well for the hiking I have done. The rockered sole propels me forward with less work, always a plus. The shoes had a great grip to them for running around on the redrocks in Southern Utah, and they held up well for a week of hiking in the rocky Northwoods of Wisconsin. They are well vented and dry rather quickly when wet. I wear a size 8.5 in most shoes, and do so in these as well. Their width is of medium proportions, which also works well with my foot. A new company that puts out a great product.

I LOVE THEM!

By:
April 1, 2009

These shoes are awesome. I've been using them 2-3 times a weeks for hiking, some light trail running, and as approach shoes to my favorite climbing spots. They have great support, breatheability, and comfort. I usually wear a 10.5, that's what I ordered and they fit great. They are snug, but that just means better support! I haven't been in the rain with them yet, but they've worked great in puddles. I love these shoes and would recommend them to anyone.

Great & light

By:
June 12, 2008

Well I just got these and spent a week hiking in utah. They are light and handled 70lbs fine with no problem. I think the sole rolls your feet more naturally and helps with my knee problems. They also handled the rain well. Even they are vented I had no problem while it rain buckets.
