Oakley XS Five Sunglasses - Iridium Lens

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what the XS stands for in the Oakley XS Five Sunglasses—these shades offer big-time style and protection in a small package. These Oakleys are great for youths aged around 10 and up or for adults with extra small faces. The pure Plutonite lenses offer distortion-free clarity, block 100% of harmful UV rays and surpass ANSI Industrial Standards for impact protection. Oakley gave these dark lenses an Iridium coating to block glare and make the XS Fives great for bright light conditions.

Bottom Line: Xtra Small, Xtra Style.

These sunglasses are a lifesaver.

My son has blonde fundus. Which means that he has extreme sun sensitivity of the eyes. These are the only sunglasses that he can wear that actually fit him. They are dark enough for him to wear in bright sunlight, unlike all other kids sunglasses. And they have uv protection. Please don't stop carrying them. I already ordered 4 pair.

This is my son's third pair. He has sun sensitivity of the eyes. This is the only pair of sunglasses that not only fit him, but are also dark enough for his eyes.

I would go with Oakley. I've owned glasses from both companies, and frame quality will largely depend on specific model, but is comparable. Oakley optical quality, however, is unmatched.

I can only attest to Smith Sliders, they have been the best pair of cycling glasses.

I had a chance recently to visit Oakley's factory in California, and what I witnessed there leads me to state without question that I will only buy Oakleys the rest of my life. The impact protection and lens quality specification that they go to is astounding. There is a reason the American military uses Oakley. Oakley all the way. Yes I'm a fanboy, but rightfully so.

I have always been really impressed with Oakley's quality, however Andrew does make a good point.

Perfect size for small adult or child

By:
June 2, 2008

I am a small adult female and these are the perfect size for me. They don't take up a ton of room to store in a bag or purse, nor do they fall off or take over my whole face; but they are still full enough to look good and provide adequate coverage. I have a pair of Oakley "Script," and these are a similar shape, just MUCH smaller in size.
As a word of caution, in terms of the size, these really do appear to be kid-size glasses to me. They would far too small most people older than 11 or 12--that is, unless they have a small face. They look ridiculous and/or just don't fit on several other adults who have tried them.

My Favorite Oakley's

By:
February 25, 2008

I have purchased 3 pairs of these in the past 8 years or so. I love them and they are the only sunglasses I will buy for myself. I'm pretty small, 5'2" and so most sunglasses are somewhat loose and large on me. These fit me great and last through all the beatings I give them. I am always on the go and to be perfectly honest, I don't take great care of my things. My first pair got lost, which is why I replaced them then, and the second pair which I had for years was retired mainly due to my toddler. She would play with them and after a long time of that the arms were a little outstretched so I bought a new pair just to ensure a tighter fit and gave the old ones to my toddler for her own pair to trash..... The pair I purchased to replace that one has lasted strong for over a year and a half now. I love these sunglasses!

First, the Oakley logo fell off from the frame of the sunglass. They are not smooth to operate, scratching sound.

Iridium XS Sunglasses

By:
July 26, 2004

My eye surgeon gave me lots of specifications for buying sunglasses. The Oakley Iridium sunglasses met the requirements and more. These sunglasses are dark enough to protect your eyes from the sunlight. But, they do not make everything look dark as well. They are so comfortable that sometimes I forget that I have them on!! I love them! Well worth the money!!

right frame size wrong lens size

By:
April 16, 2008

i really liked the fit of the small frame of these but the lenses were still rather large for a small face. if you are looking for snug fit of frame only these are great. if you are looking for an all around "small" pair of glasses for your face these are still too big.
