Oakley Wiretap Sunglasses - 2006

Oakley Wiretap Sunglasses combine a lightweight metal frame and complete UV protection. They may not protect you from spies, but the Wiretaps will make sure you see any suspicious activity clearly. Pure Plutonite lens material, iridium coatings, and patented XYZ Optics work together to ensure your vision is completely undistorted.

Bottom Line: Shh, they're listening. Let's go outside to talk.

So great they got stolen

By:

I absolutely loved these sunglasses. They were the first Oakleys I ever got and was hooked right away. They looked great, was lightweight yet solid construction. I wore them casual and for sports and they were fantastic. Unfortunately I made the mistake of leaving them in my check in luggage when I went through Eastern Europe and they were stolen (I had other sunglasses in there too which they totally overlooked). To my dismay I found this model is no longer available... anywhere (I have tried to find them on the internet all around the world) I have Square Wire 2.0 now, which is great, but will always remember my Wiretap which I still miss when I see photos of me with them on.

This was also the first product I bought from Backcountry.com and they got me hooked on you guys too...

The Camera Lies

By:
May 2, 2003

Okay, I bought the pewter/red glasses, which on the website have dead-on red lenses and a white/metal looking frame, where as in actuality the lenses are more purple with red highlights, and the frame is closer to black than white. I don't know what magic camera they used to shoot the demo photograph, but I couldn't reproduce those colors if I tried, without Photoshop anyway. But besides that, the quality is good. So that's why it got a 2, but misses 3 more misrepresentation.

It's good and worth the money!

I love these sunglasses. They are stylish and great to protect eyes. I don't feel any different wearing and not wearing the glasses except the sun is not hurting my eyes any more.

Whoosh!!

By:

These sunglasses came SO QUICK! I opted for USPS instead of recommended UPS, only b/c I trust them more... and I got them earlier than expected!
The sunglasses were almost everything I was expecting... the model changed a little bit in the last year, and was not aware of that til I got these.
Would definitely order from here again.

If you want performance with a splash of chickmagnet-ness, get these Oakleys. I checked all over the web and Backcountry.com had the best price and shipping was super fast!
