Oakley Livestrong Flak Jacket Sunglasses

Lance Armstrong and Oakley Eyewear collaborate to give you the Oakley Livestrong Flak jacket Sunglasses. These special edition sunglasses feature distortion free High Definition Optics seated in Flak Jacket frames highlighted with Livestrong yellow. The Livestrong sunglasses feature Oakley's signature precision-tapered XYZ Optics to give you distortion-free vision as you look through the Oakley lens. The existing Flak jacket lenses (sold separately) are easily interchangeable for lighter or darker lenses depending on the lighting conditions of the moment. To keep your Radar sunglasses on your face while you ride your bike or hit the trail, grippy rubber Unobtanium ear socks hug your head to give you a secure yet comfy fit that won't pinch or cause painful pressure points. Backcountry.com and Oakley will each donate $10 (for a total of $20) from every pair of Livestrong sunglasses sold to the Livestrong Foundation. Because cancer sucks.

Bottom Line: Protect your eyes like Lance; fight cancer like a champion.

Do these have sufficient side protection for mountaineering/glacier use? I know Julbo's will probably be best for glacier use but want something a little more versatile.

Some might consider them enough but for my money I'd go with something which has a little better protection. These allow quite a bit of light to come through the bottom/sides.

Generally they just slide off. Sometimes you will have to get just a little water down there to loosen things up but they're normally not too bad.

Does this mean I'm only paying for the frames?

This set of glasses does come with lenses. The description, though poorly written, means that you can buy additional lenses such as these:http://www.backcountry.com/store/OAK1400/Oakley-Flak-Jacket-Standard-Replacement-Lens.html
