The Oakley Gas Can sunglasses are built to stare down the competition. Tough, lightweight O Matter frames will take the abuse of rough days on the track without flinching. Optically correct XYZ lenses ensure you'll stay focused on your opponents. The Gas Can exceeds ANSI standards for impact resistance, and the Plutonite lenses block all the harmful UV rays that could slow you down.
I got these sunglasses last summer, and they really did the trick. My only problem with them is they sometimes don't like to stay on my head when I am doing some activities, or even looking down. When they fall, my one lens tends to pop out too, so it was getting annoying. But it is a nice pair of sunglasses, by an awesome company.
Joker808 is wrong, gascans are pretty large. In your cases i would go for the gascan s, fives, flak jacket, or canteens. all of these models are on the smaller side, and should accomodate a smal to medium sized face.
I dont understand how everyone says these glasses are only for people with big heads. I have a small ass head and they never fall of or anything like that. They look sweet and fit everyone so don't worry about that.
These were the first pair of shades I ever took a habit to wearing, in my whole life. The optics are great. Unfortunately some assbag snatched them out of my Jeep :(
I replaced them with a pair of polarized gascans I snatched off steep and cheap for the same price. The Polarized lenses are even better!
simply perfect glasses...clean styling, not over the top, not too big but not tiny elton john style either...modern frame shape bit easily a classic...and bombproof, theyve been stepped on and dropped on pavement and just put thru 3 years of torture, everywhere from campsites to resort snowboarding, and all there is to show for it is a few sratches on the lense and frame, they really should be in pieces, and if you buy here you can return them even if all you have is peices...cleanig is easy, the arms and lenses detach easily and can be cleaned seperatley...fits perfect on my 7 size head with miimal slipping, even while sweating and playing volleyball in the hot sun, and they just barley go up when i smile but thats normal for me...YOU JUST CANT GO WROG WITH THESE!
I loved the way these sunglasses looked on me, but they didn't work for me. The main reason was the plastic on the bottom under the lenses. It blocked my view if I tried to look down without tilting my head down as well. Also, the sides did not sit close to my face and while using them while riding my motorcycle the wind made my eyes water excessively. They just didn't work for me. Got the Gascan S and they are much better. Did not have either problem. The regular Gascan looked better, but the Smalls work better. I have a medium to large face, but the Smalls fit me just fine.
This is my first pair of Oakley Sunglasses and by far the best i have ever had. I had Dragon Sunglasses(Cage model) they were not very strong or tuff. The Oakley Gas Can is the best for everything and still having style and function.
I recently purchased the Gas Can sunglasses for my husband. He has a wider face and it is very difficult to find sunglasses for him! We had tried several different styles before the Gas Can. The Twitch were too small, the Bruce Irons were too feminine looking. Finally we tried the Gas Can...PERFECTION! They fit a wide face well and they look great. We ended up getting the polarized lenses which are very helpful for driving in very sunny conditions. The arms of the Gas Can snap on and off, so it would be tough to truly destroys these. Great pair of sunglasses! Highly recommended!
They do indeed fit a large head. I just bought the Gascan sunglasses for my husband and they look great. He has a wide face and sunglasses always look silly on him, too small. These are the first pair he tried on that looked perfect!
while i might be a 20 year old i pop my acu collar on the range but doesnt take away from the glasses. these sunglasses might not fit army regs but they sure look cool as hell. oakley managed to bring there edge and style to a world not affiliated with sport performance. $100 is a steal in my opinion, but so is $55 from a certain gov website. if you are on the fence about these jump off and get them. you wont regret the decision
Another stylish quality line of shades from Oakley. Great for spotting gapers on the slopes. They fit a bit different than Fives, so if you are used to that line I would recommend trying these on first.
dimensions are hard since these arent flat, but frames are 3.75 cm. tall at their tallest...and its 1.5 cm. from the bottom of the nosepiece to the top on the frame...and the glasses are 13.75 cm at thier widest point...also mine cover the very very bottom of my eyebrows, but my eyebrows are mostly visible
The Gascan is one of Oakley's best selling frames because of the new stylized look. I have a larger face and fits well but not as great as the Monster Dog or Half Jackets. Still is a great frame, and the color is very unique since it is discontinued and wasn't as popular or main stream. When wearing them the frame looks black with a hint of purple.
First off - I'll admit, I probably should've gotten the Gascan smalls. These shades are a little big on my face. The minute 2.0 and Fives Squared (which are for small to medium faces) fit much better. These glasses fall off my face if I lean over to tie my shoes. Maybe they'd stay on a little better if I had a bigger noggin. My girlfriend always says, "You look like an alien" when I wear these glasses. I like 'em, but the style definitely seems like you love it or hate it. All in all, a solid pair of shades if you have a big head and like blocky glasses. I just wouldn't reccomend them for any high energy activities.
I've always been a fan of Oakley shades. I was able to get a pair of Gas Cans soon after they were available. Now, it seems every little teen or 20-something popped collar D-bag is wearing them. Mine still do the trick. They wear well while riding my sportbike.
These glasses are the best buy I've ever made. I've had them for 3 years now, and taken them out rafting, climbing, on 20 day backpacking trips, worn them while cycling, and they've never once failed me. These things are indestructible. On countless occasions, the lenses have popped out or the arms have come off, and all I've had to do is pop them back on. Definitely worth the money I paid for them
I love these shades, I got the Gas Can in the Rootbeer color. These fit great stay on my face, I use them for everything, mtn biking, boating, hiking, driving. Just a great all around sunglass.
These sunglasses are not only comfortable, they also look great! They are very durable and are made from quality materials. Plus you get super-fast delivery and great service!
I'm a big fan of Oakley stuff, that being said I've usually found that their sunglasses a really good for sports but not as stylish as I'd like. That's changed with the Gas Cans, these are really comfortable and stylish to boot. Done with the typical Oakley flair. Great glasses.
I had been in the market for new sunglasses for a LONG time but could not find myself willing to spend the bucks for a nice pair. I finally found these out backcountry and took the dive. They fit me great and don't fall off when i move around. (i have a normal sized head) and they have excellent coverage. I highly recommend them.
well u see, the gascan is a small type shade for ppl with more small faces, but i think the oakley eyepatch sunglasses will suit someone with a larger or oval face. The gascans aren't for people with small faces, they are in fact rather large. I rock a XXL Giro and these shades fit me well.....yea bro...thanx for cuttin me down like dat...i see how it is...jpwell i wear a medium r.e.d. trace helmet, and these fit me great!
Would they fit very well......or just ok? Or would the Monster Dog's be a better fit? I need to know before I buy them......its such a struggle to find glasses that fit right.
These Oakleys look great (obviously) and have a very good fit, but the hinges are crap. My glasses squeak and creak every time I open the frames. I don't use them for hiking so I don't see how sand would get in. I tried cleaning them but nothing works. This is unacceptable for the price that Oakley is charging.
i have always loved oakleys and finally decided to get some and was very pleased there pretty light and fit my face grrrrreat these are great sports glasses or street shades there hot get em
Not a fan of shellin out a c note for sunglasses (they often fall victim to destruction of go missing), but I really like these shades. I know every popped collar d-bag is starting to sport them, but for an average outdoorsman, there are have great functionality as well as durability.
These glasses look good and fit snug. The crystal black is more like a clear black. Its see through I didn't expect that. I thought it would be more of a gloss black. The picture for the crystal black is not at all what the frame of the glasses looks like. Otherwise its a sick pair of shades. I'm keeping them anyways. They come with iridium lenses that are much better then stock gray lenses.
