Nice Jersey ...

By:
April 20, 2009

I think most everything has been stated ... Fits a little weird/zipper pitching a tent on your chest/ combine with a base layer.

I can't understand the comments about the "rear zippered pocket". I looked & don't have one ... may require special skill to find it.

If you stand up straight (military fashion) it looks great, but bend over & you're going to put your eye out. I am able to "avoid" this by always wearing my mule camelbak, with chest straps.

No, this thing isn't wind resistant. I have noticed my camelbak has started to snag the grey fabric that runs up the side.

I guess I have a "typical" biker physique(5'10"-150lbs-36in chest) & ordered the small. Which means it fits "funky". The grey on the forearms fits nice ... but the black farther up (where my bicep should be, if I had any) is cut larger for some reason. I still really like this jersey, but would probably fit someone else better.

Also, there's a band of tacky rubber around the inside of the bottom. This keeps in on your hips, instead of creeping up on you & turning into a tanktop.

Overall ... A good Jersey

By:

I think most of the points that needed to be made, have been made. I guess I have a "typical" cyclist build, so this does fit a bit strangely. There fabric that is gray, is for some reason cut larger than the black farther up the arm. It's not a deal breaker for me though.

You will need to wear something underneath as it isn't wind proof. I've ridden with this on anywhere from 35-55deg. ... 55 was pushing it, it was a bit uncomfortable.

I also experienced the pitched tent on my chest with the zipper. One nice feature, there's a rubber strip around the bottom of the jersey that holds it to your waste ... instead of creeping up on you and looking like a tank top before you know it.

It's a bit expensive, but I haven't found a good jersey that isn't.

Good cold weather jersey

By:
March 13, 2009

I have the red one, $32 on chainlove is hard to beat. The design is a little weird - fit and that strange rear zippered pocket. But nice materials, nice construction, and is a great cold weather jersey (combine with a baselayer / wear over your regular jersey) and pretty durable material. I agree with the reviews about the zipper, but the fit is okay for me.

Cool All Season Shirt

By:
February 22, 2009

Not much of a biker but I bought this since it looked like a decent all weather/all season type gear. It's not too thick or too thin so it should work pretty well in Fall or even early Wintery weather. I can see using this on the slopes as a mid layer on colder days and even as a top layer on sunnier days. Overall I think its a nice shirt but it could've been better. It's Oakley so it definitely has the looks. The fit of this, however, is dicey. I normally wear XXL shirts anyways so this fits a little snug but not too snug. If you're built like a long distance truck driver with a belly larger than the spare tire on your truck, this ain't going to fit AT ALL. I'm fairly muscular so the fit is pretty good all around. If you have a small chest/small arms and are either gangly looking or wiry, this will probably look really stupid on you. Considering all you ever see are skinny bicyclists, not sure why they made the fit on this so awkward. Only other flaw with this thing was the pocket..yup, just one. and they put it on your hip. Personally, I think it's the dumbest place for a pocket and it's pretty much useless to me. Put anything in there and it'll look like you have some tumor or disease on your lower back.

Overall, it's a nice shirt but consider your body type before getting this shirt.

Zipper sucks

By:

k1dude hit the nail on the head - the zipper causes the jersey to literally stick out about 5" from your chest and stomach - completely unacceptable.
